You didnt even bother to read my guide....
LOLOL, I'm sure you will after you install the second 580 and "Max" your settings...
Good Luck with that novice, you should have read the guide and the comments

While its doubtful you will post again, when your screen is flickering black and the game is crashing...
*Just come back read the guide, and it will fix you right up bro

Your guide is just wrong.
I rarely read guides and seldomly write them.
And I prefer to get maximum quality and no "performance" settings like you suggest.

Crashing? Flickering? I get none of these with my settings and my actual setup.

Kinda going off topic here.  Are you going to do a guide for BF3 after it's released?  That would be awesome.
BTW I think your guides rock.  IMO to a person that lacks the knowledge and experience they help explain in detail why or how each step if required or needed.

maniacvvv: I don't understand why you are heating up so much... maybe your cooler is defective ;)
Mine was not a personal attack, just my own opinion and tested settings.

Guides are a good thing for newbies and even experienced people can learn something from them (vsync broken? what issues do you see? I see none)

In your guide you "crank up" game settings while degrading visual settings in nvidia control panel.

I just have a different opinion and a screenshot can prove bfbc2 on my system is visually near to perfect (It will be when I will also maximize AA and aniso)

For your own knowledge, I tried to run the game at 1920x1200 and INDEED AA have a major role at that definition.

Get yourself an HP Zr30W (H2 IPS, 1 billion colors, 2560x1600) and you will see the difference :)

Re:Battlefield BC2 Graphic Settings Guide 2011/10/21 21:58:15 (permalink)
Please explain

How are you getting 122.2fps with Vsync "ON" as shown in your settings file?

I know why, do you?

Also your stated AA levels appear to be incorrect

We can clearly see you do not have Transparency AA enabled in the above shot....
And if the game were at x16 pure AA and x16AF (you stated settings) Why are we seeing the artifacts on the light poles, aircraft and on the ground shadows? And the artifacting on the pilots gamer tag speaks for itself running at 2560x1600....
Thank you for posting the original screenshot at full 2560x1600 res, as that removes any doubt about the discrepancy between your posted settings file and what was really used for the screenshot.

I happen to know a great deal about the BFBC2 game engine, its settings and what given settings produce inside the game.

You post does not appear to be factual

I am happy you finally bought the right hardware to drive your monitor, and that whatever the settings you are using are working for you. (maybe you read my Guide after all)

You appear to have no concrete experience or even basic knowledge of Nvidia drivers, the NVCP or what the effects of different settings in the Nvidia control panel and inside of a given game engine produce when used together, in terms of graphical quality...

I stand by my guide and the hundreds of posts from users who found it helpful, informative and produced the results promised.

Your "stated" settings (and posted screenshot) do not match the known performance levels in BFBC2. Not even close.

You have indeed proved a point....

ok, you are correct about my failed install of the game, i did copy and paste the game between drives, and may have corupted files.  here is the funny thing, i did a remove game from control panel, which it did, but bc2 icon was still up, and when clicked, was still playable!!! LOL.  also, when i did the fresh install (dvd) on my storage drive, it did a new 745XXX update on the game and my old version was 6XXXXX.

i just played a few maps, will give you a new update if i artifact again.
thanks for your help :)

ok.....its solved for bc2, but.....it does the same thing for bf3 :(
i did follow your temp guide for bf3, but it does not look good...but does not crash.  when i kick it all up to ultra, runs well, but will crash like the screen shot that i upload.
i have the 1.5 vram gtx 580, vanilla card....i suspect bad ram again........

In your post you show advanced graphics option.  How do you turn that on?  All I see is the standard graphics settings shown here!

I truly don't mean to be dense; however the pic I posted is all I see.  Where are you in the game for your settings?  I select, options then video.  As you can see in the pic, it looks nothing like what you are posting.  Is the info your providing for the Beta or the retail version?  I have the retail version.

sent...  Strange your settings page looks nothing like mine.  Sorry to be a pest man.  Hope you can help.  Also do you know why Battlefiled 3 keeps launching through Game Manager?  I had a few launches through Origin, now Origin redirects my launch through Game Manager.

Sent you a PM with the link to the "temporary" Battlefield 3 guide
http://forums.evga.com/fb.ashx?m=1293763

This Guide is for Battlefield Bad Company 2 -not- Battlefield 3

There are differences in the NVCP settings needed, so be sure to note those changes from what was posted in this thread

Sorry, at this time I only have one monitor.. so surround setup guides are out of the question.

I am still working to complete my Battlefield3 guide...
After that is done I am not really thinking about doing another guide until ARMA3.
ARMA3 will be my next major project, along with a Nvidia Kepler Driver Guide early next year
