Has anybody purchased a graphics card from B-stock? There seems to be some good deals there and wanted some advice.
Also does anyone know if you can find out what kind of reason for an item to be in B-stock? RE: a scratch, or similar?
Thanks....

I bought a few lower end GPUs from B-stock. B-stock are refurbished products with 1-year warranty. I believe some of them are from the Step-up program, but some of course will be repaired products. The ones that I got work well and have had no issues. What are you looking to get?

    $320 for the GTX 980 Ti SC+.
    $170 for GTX 970 SC+ GAMING ACX 2.0.
    Very nice!
Off topic, is the 970 good enough for folding?  Maybe 1060 is much better?

I was going to get a GTX980ti, but went for a GTX970 and a 850W PSU and saved 50$ or so. I can SLi if I want since I have another GTX970
They will go good with the EVGA x79 Classified, i7-3930K hexcore with H110 AIO cooler I just picked up for 280$ .
Ordered this case, looks good. Can't wait to see it in person.
Should make a nice build.  That Classified is a big board for sure.

Is that good for a month?  I have never done folding so I don't know =)  I'm thinking about it but do not want to see the electric bill goes up like crazy.

Also got a 780Ti from B-stock.  It had one small problem, the fans weren't plugged in.  After that, no issues at all.

3 years ago it would have been a fantastic month but folding has been trying to keep up with the new gpu's by optimizing the wu's for gpus. IMHO the 970 was a sweet spot for folding (price/power usage/points.) It uses a lot less power than my 780 and puts out 75-100k ppd more. But now the 10 series is out and 1070 uses less power than 970 and points are up 70-80%. That 980ti you linked to would be a great card to experiment with folding but it wouldn't be long before you were wishing for more points. We call it the addiction.

Are the b stock cards eligible for the step up program? The 980ti's are nice but might step up in future to a 1070 if possible even though they are really close in most benchmarks I have seen just an extra 2 gb vram on the 1070 and higher clock speeds. Im not much of an overclocker but will in the future. My gtx 260 216 core is really slowing my new build down. Thanks for the help!  Also how long will the sale last? if its still going on friday after work when I get paid Im buying if step up is available.

Yeah unless you have great airflow ACX is not good for SLI. I have a Thermaltake Chaser MK-I with a 200mm fan blowing on them and still temps were very high. I probably need to reverse the fan direction to pull air out.
