I recently put together a machine with an X99 FTW, 5820k, Asus 280x DCU II and Crucial CT4G4DFS8213. I am having problems with the machine bluescreening. When I first built it I tried to play Diablo III and the computer would bluescreen after only a few minutes of playing.  After turning the PCI-E slot to GEN2 the game would stay running. I investigated the issue and updated the firmware on the video card. Setting the slot to auto now lets the machine run longer, but it is still crashing occasionally. The card worked perfectly fine in my previous system. I even stress tested the video card and processor for about an hour using Prime95 and FurMark. The system ran fine. I have had the machine bluescreen while in games and even while just browsing the internet. Below is a diagnostic log of the memory dump.

This is a fresh install of Windows 8.1 and I am using 14.4 for the video drivers. This configuration worked fine on the previous system. The video card is the only PCI device installed. I currently have the slot set to GEN2 to see if it is more stable and I will update the thread with more information if it is running better or worse.

I was wondering if anyone else is running into this problem or if it is a known issue? I know there are issue with Asus Xonar cards (which I also had installed, but since removed). Any help would me much appreciated.

Thank you.

Are you overclocking? if so set your Bios to the Defaults or Optimized settings and memory to Auto and retest.
It may help other if you listed your system hardware and what Slot did you install the Video Card?

Also I found that the Beta Version now out works better than Version 14.4

The machine is not overclocked at all. Everything is set to stock. Here is the full list of hardware:
    X99 FTW
    Intel 5820K
    Noctua NH-D14 Cooler
    Asus 280x DCU II
    4 x 4GB Crucial CT4G4DFS8213
    Coolermaster Silent Pro 600M PSU
    Samsung 840 Pro SSD
2 x Western Digital VelociRaptor 600GB in stripe

The video card is in slot two since the Noctua cooler blocks slot one. I was thinking my PSU may be a little weak, but I tested the system under heavy load for over an hour and it was fine. My method was to run Prime95 and FurMark at the same time.

I am also getting the same error:

    Everything is at stock/default.

Installed Windows 8.1 from scratch with the new system and everything is patched.  Memtest did not find any artifacts.  Furmark for 25 minutes and the GPU temp did not raise above 72C.  LinX 20 passes with max cpu temps around 51c.

The crashes usually come when the computer has been on for more than 24 hours and I'm playing a game.  I have three monitors (2x 1080p dvi & hdmi, 1x 2560x1600 dvi) if that matters.  In diablo I get really poor framerates (10-15 fps) most of the time, while rarely I get 150-160 fps as expected.  TitanFall won't even run for some reason.  Loaded up HAWX-2 for lulz, and my last crash happened while playing (although, I was getting decent frame rates).

The corsair PSU & GTX 780 came straight out of my old x79 build that was rock solid for years @ 4.3ghz.  And now I miss it... This is not just a gaming rig, but also my workstation and I have lost work multiple times due to crashes.  Very frustrating.

This is far from my first build.  In my experience,  the evidence suggests a bad board.  My next guess would be something to do with the Samsung software since I had one crash that had to do with SamsungRapidDiskFltr.sys (which is now uninstalled).  I might try reloading nVidia drivers since that is one of the few things I have left to try on my own.

Would love to hear if you have any updates.

Ok I might know how to recreate the issue.  I ran Linx + Furmark + Netflix + a beer and had a bluescreen after about 45 minutes.  I think it was the beer.

I upped my CPU voltage to 1.1v which should be super overkill for stock to test if maybe the default CPU voltage is a little low.  With vdroop at load it was previously at .7v.  If it doesn't crash before my next beer I'm going to bed and running it overnight.

Here is an update with my status. Setting the PCIE slot the video card is in to Gen 2 in the BIOS has "solved" the issue. In reality it is more so a workaround for now. You may want to give that a try. This seems to be a bug at the moment.

Getting the same problem, play bf4 for 20 min or so and bsod. I will try the PCI-E gen2 thing. Everything on my rig is default nothing overclocked.
