iDreadnaught It appears that you can't assign WCG projects per device or profile. That's too bad, what if you have a mix of Win and Lin boxes and want to assign projects per device profile to optimize your output? I have 4 devices (PC's) with WCG and each one has a unique profile name (although I could assign the same profile to all 4 devices if I wanted to). Each of my 4 Profiles has different WCG Projects assigned. I have one Rig/Profile running only Cancer related Projects, another working CFSW, another doing Schistosoma, and so on. Unless I'm misunderstanding your question, you should be able to do what you want to do.

+1, under My Grid / Device Manager / Device Profiles you can edit the projects for each profile. Too bad you can't change the names of the profiles.

Thanks for putting my glasses on for me, lol. I don't know why I didn't see the custom profile option earlier

Looking good everyone! I see we've gained a few positions now that WCG has started.

Question about Yoyo@home and QMC@home , Should we set Yoyo for CPU tasks and QMC for GPU tasks? I have never crunched either of these two projects.

As far as I can tell, they´re both cpu only, so your choices are: running both at the same time, or pick one

AvengingAngel Question about Yoyo@home and QMC@home , Should we set Yoyo for CPU tasks and QMC for GPU tasks? I have never crunched either of these two projects. Both of these projects are CPU projects. The nice thing about BOINC is that you can attach to both of these projects and other projects as well and BOINC will automatically handle load balancing between them so that each project is allocated a fair share of resources. You can also adjust the share of resources by logging into your account, going to QMC@HOME Preferences for example and then editing the resource share to some value other than 100. For example, if you set one project to 100 resource share and the other to 400 resource share than the first project gets 20% resources (100/500) and the second projects gets 80% resources (400/500).

Cool! Was hoping to split the two up processing wise between CPU and GPU instead of sharing CPU resources. FYI... Harmonious trees WU ran for 1:50:00 and netted ~ 53 pts vs QMC WU ran 8:40:00 and netted 250 pts on a 920 @ stock. Just trying to get an idea of which project to weight more or just forget about it and run 50-50. Any ideas and insights would be appreciated.

The execution time for each task with Harminous Trees varies quite a bit. As a result, the rewarded credit will also be different from one task to another. I checked my task list and see anywhere from 8 to 111 points awarded per task. I would suggest leaving the projects at 50/50 unless there is one project that you prefer over another. In general I only give a project higher priority if that project regularly has a shortage of tasks. For example, I join my systems to LHC Sixtrack which rarely has work but when there is work, this project gets priority over other projects in order to be able to run as many tasks as possible during the window of availability.

Do we already have plans for the 14th? Like defending our spot on wcg at all cost and move over as the race allows, or are we just adding in yoyo and qmc and see what happens?

I'm adding yoyo and qmc on the 14th. I'll only be around for about 24 hours after those two start, if I feel comfortable with leaving my computer running unattended for 30 days, it'll be running wcg, yoyo, qmc, collatz and gpugrid.... I might disable wcg on the 14th, I have 3 pages pending, to get more yoyo and qmc in....

I have to pull ressources from wcg sometime on the 14th for the CC. Don´t want them to show up there really late. Currently working on a nice initial drop for (mostly) QMC and yoyo , but I have to pull that one sometime on the 14th as well

Tied for 14th, pretty good showing considering we had a small team and it was our first attempt. Good job everyone!

Also considering our reduced numbers the last few days due to the overlap with the chimp challenge, I think we did pretty awesome.

Yeah, and if the ovelap with the CC can somehow be avoided next year, the results may be even better!

the cc is in april next year there shouldn't be too much puttering with the formula or format too much. the key for us is getting the message out and growing the team
