Let the Collatz begin...now!

So yoyo and qmc with a complete overlap. Interesting. Do we split ourselves, or throw everyone at just one?

I dont see an issue with either option, but I say we see how things look a day or two into wcg.... I plan to run both.... What happens if we decide to only push one and it just happens to be the same one other teams decide to only push? By running both, I can easily jump from one to the other if needed and we get points on both....

I'll have to look into it, some yoyo tasks take longer and are strange with completion and time estimates.... Qmc is quantum Monte Carlo, they take a few hours if I remember right....

Just for some info, my 920, I don't remember the oc at the time, either 3.6 or 3.8, at about 7 hours for 250 points per task for QMC to about 27 hours for 700ish points....  That is run time, cpu time is about 6 hours and 21 hours....  I've been throttling somewhat just because I use this system for school and stuff....
 
for yoyo, the same system, I can't see any task results, they've been too long ago.  For the harmonious trees tasks, my laptop is on pace to complete one in 5 hours.  ecm tasks are estimated on my 920 at about 90 hours, but that is all I can give.  I never really paid much attention to how long they run or the points.  I do know some seem like they aren't doing anything and will stay at 0% for awhile and jump to 20% and then to 40% and the time to finish increases until the completion updates and then it starts increasing again....  linuxrouter might have more input on yoyo than me....
 
Edit: for yoyo, I would avoid running a buffer of more than a day, the ecm tasks I got have a deadline of the 12th.

I'm glad to move-on from Rosetta to Collatz.  Too many errors and what felt like "flakiness" for me with Rosetta across 4 different Rigs.  Even my Rig that is not overclocked could not process the WUs without some "Computational errors" reported.  Must be stuff that I'd have to do (tweaking or something) to get Rosetta happy with my machines, and I just didn't have the time or inclination.  But onward to Collatz GPU and I'm running WCG (CPU WUs) in the background too in advance of the next leg.

I (er my PC rather) like the Collatz tasks so much better also. The 550 takes about 8 minutes to complete the mini's, and ~1hr20mins for the regular ones. 580 does the mini's in about 2-3 minutes and the regulars take a little less than 35 mins. I'll put my CPU's on WCG tomorrow to give the Rosetta queue enough time to finish up before WCG.

Glad to hear Rosetta didn't give just me problems.  (not to mean I like when you all have problems!!)  ;)
 
Collatz should be a ball!

Well, I was trying to bring 3 more laptops onboard at work (I asked myself for permission), but Rosetta is only using 1 core? Any ideas? I'm leaving work in an hour, just hate to leave them only 25% utilyzed if they could do 100%

Yeah, I guess that's what happened. My desktop at home almost immediately loaded up like 30 tasks, so was wondering why these laptops were only doing the 1 after like 5 minutes, but they're running fine now.

I´m having a bigadv finish in ~3 hours. Should I swap it over to the pentathlon for a day or 2? And if, what project rosetta or wcg?

I'm guessing that you're planning to run that Bigadv rig for CC 2012 and that you would need to have it switched over a few days ahead for that first Bigadv timing (assuming a 6903 or greater)?  My favorite Bigadv rig is currently running WCG (as of today) and will be dedicated to the Pentathlon until I get within striking distance of the CC start-date.  I plan to run rigs for both of the Challenges during the overlap and then 100% Folding thereafter.  If it were me, I'd be tempted to switch that Bigadv Rig of yours over to the Pentathlon for a few days...

I think I have about 10 more Rosetta tasks waiting, started wcg already.... From my laptop mainly, I have about a page waiting validation.... It seems as I finish tasks on the laptop, the same number validate....

It basically is plundering the vault again.... Yoyo and qmc will see somewhat of a boost from this....

Really? I didn't notice it when it ran on mynlaptop.. I know the ECM tasks do it....

For anyone who prefers to run Yoyo in Linux, evolution and muon can be run in Linux but require wine since there is not a native Linux app available. Harminous Trees has a native Linux app and wine is not required for this application.

It appears that you can't assign WCG projects per device or profile. That's too bad, what if you have a mix of Win and Lin boxes and want to assign projects per device profile to optimize your output?
