I think I can deliver poem's to the last minute, I've got 536 in progress. I'll try to grab some more, and put other stuff on hold. Edit. tried to switch over on a couple of rig's, they don't have work atm. I put those who can make a difference to fetch work, so if POEM can deliver some WU's during the weekend, we will possibly get some.

I sure haven't been able to get any POEM work on my second rig. I've got almost 1200 on the first rig that should finish in time. I see some of our nearby teams have dropped their bunkers overnight, increasing the gaps, so I hope we can get some new work to try and keep them in range.

After being overtaken by RKN in Enigma I stopped there and currently let my POEM tasks run on that rig. Should at least keep them at bay a bit

You mean Rechenkraft? Did you notice we just pulled ahead of them again? I wouldn't give up on Enigma just yet... Of course if you are lucky enough to get POEM work, that's good too. I try and try but there is never any new work.

It could be a photo finish today in Enigma with RKN! Plus, Meisterkuehler.de is hiding behind us, and they have a habit of dropping huge bunkers just before the end. Edit: Oh boy, just got 7 POEM WU's, I feel so privileged!

Just under 20 minutes until the Enigma portion of the Pentathlon ends. I have four tasks that might make the dead line. Pogs is set to allow new work and will be taking Enigma's place on my systems. I still have Poem enabled but I don't expect the Poem admins to have any work for us until way after the Pentathlon ends.

I think that was a good finish for us in Enigma. Held 12th despite some bunkers behind us, and even ended closer to 11th than 13th. Changing everything over to pogs now!

I've cut off Enigma, turned Poem and Pogs on full blast. Poem has 100 resource share and Pogs 0, just in case Poem tasks become available. Otherwise it's a steady diet of Pogs here on out. 🍔

Okay that's news to me - I didn't realize that a project would run with a resource share of zero.

Yes it will. But being set to zero means it won't even try unless your system has a processor without any work or your task list gets empty enough to start looking for work. When it does go looking it will hit up all the projects you have enabled saving any set to zero for last. I always keep a back up project set to zero so it will kick in if a server goes down or a project runs out of work and I didn't see it coming. Right now I have Poem at 100, Pogs at 0, GPU Grid 100, and Milkyway at 0.

Should at least keep them at bay a bit At that time we already lost ground on the italians, and rechenkraft had overtaken us and was ulling away quite quickly. During the next update period somebody dumped a bunker and got us back into the game again. We def need a secret strategie room for next time so we all know who has some bunkers left without the whole world knowing it

There's always PM's... or the nuclear option... we sabotage the WU's. :) Either way, it's not where we show is that we show. We need to remember that during these contests there is a small core of crunchers within this team participating. If the team places anywhere in the top 15 against the larger teams that means one helluva lot as to the validity, staying power, drive and determination of you guys. That's something you can take to the bank.

We finished 14th last year and it was a great accomplishment for our small team. It's natural to want to do better this year. But we know how much our team grew these past months (thanks to Dr. P) so my own selfish expectations were high. I also know that no matter where we end up in the standings, we've done 3 or 4 times as much science this year than last year. Still I have this competitive type of DNA that I can't get away from. Ask my Pops.

I can't, I'm still interrogating Snap and Crackle. It's not just the competition I'm speaking off... We are now in 67th position at BOINC Stats... heading up... A lot of the current contest isn't counted in BOINC so it doesn't show right now what you folks have accomplished but when this began we went from an average 5-6 mill a day to 20 mill a day. It's all good in my mind. What's especially impressive is how a team as small as we are (and granted we've grown some) can do well against bigger, more experienced teams. We'll get there, this I know. Oh and I'm sending a swab over to you for some DNA sampling... just in case I get around to Pop. ;)

I should have realized this sooner - there ARE ways to greatly increase your chances of getting POEM work - and I confirmed by checking other forums. PM me if you are interested. Of course, it only works if there is ANY work coming out of POEM; if they are taking the weekend off and there is no new work, it won't help. Edit: never mind, server status indicates there are no more tasks available, so it's rather pointless to try now. Maybe next contest... Edit2: belay that never mind, it did actually work and I now have 14 POEM tasks
