You guys are all over the announcements. I leave for work and when I get home the latest news has been posted and discussed already! I updated the first post with current info. Cooler temps are forecast for tomorrow which is when I will fire up the rigs. The pentathlon is almost upon us...good job to those who have already started stockpiling their bunkers!

No, they still have 200k tasks to go. Initially I only got one task as well. Once that was done, I was able to stockpile. Have you suspended all other projects?

I guess i'm just gonna let it go and not worry about stockpiling till tomarrow then i can get a few extra on there

Ah, the manager is now trying to fill up your cache with both projects. This usually takes a while to sort out. So once you got your bearing suspend one project, or at least set it to not accept new tasks. And keep an eye for the deadlines

One thing I've noticed with the newer versions of BOINC...when running more than one project, it seems to get the max work from one project, crunch that and then get the same amount of work from another project and crunch that and then repeat for all other projects. I remember back in the day, if you had 5 projects active, it would get tasks from all 5 and would could be crunching work from them all at the same time.... Now it seems to try to focus on one at a time.... The only time I've had multiple projects curnching together was when one had tasks close to the deadline or there wasnt enough work to keep all 8 threads busy....

Is it possible to download more Pogs tasks without uploading my finished tasks? I set up Boinc with a 7 day buffer and I finished them in less than 3 days.

That has happened here as well. Just didn´t get enough tasks. Rig is sitting idle for now and waiting to dump my load. Not that easily. You´d need a second OS, either outright Linux or a second Windows install, or a virtual machine. Not sure if its worth the hassle now for the remaing few hours.

I have started building up Collatz now, as the deadline is near the end of the contest anyways. It took a lot to convince myself to stop folding completely for this contest, but I did it

Not officially confirmed, but it seems like they would stick with Collatz since that is what the vote is for. If they change it, I haven't really wasted anything. All of my ankle-biters are/will be changed over to Rosetta. PS: It is on! We can start dumping pogs!

Both my systems are working on Pogs. I will pass on Rosetta since I have nothing but trouble from that project in the form of Validation Errors. Plus I can run Pogs tasks a lot faster than I can Rosetta tasks. Rosetta says they give points for invalid tasks but from what I have read the points are really low and they have to do it by hand each day. This error problem has been going on for a while and donors seem to be getting fed up by the lack of a fix and moving to other projects. Just my take from reading the Rosetta forums. I just need something to sick my GPU on now. Since word leaked out early about Collatz by mistake its looking like, according to the contest admins, that part of the contest is going to get "rescheduled". Not sure what that means, change of dates or change of project?

Down to 5th, but still a great start! The way I read it on their forums, it just means a change in dates. Don´t forget, Collatz was the teams choice.

2 cups down, thinking about a 3rd. Thanks guys! I just paused my win8 and booted into win7 and dropped that load. (about 80) and then booted the Mint stick and dropped them, (30). I got 24 cores doing pogs and 8 bunkering Rosetta. Keep em going everyone!

Collatz has just been confirmed as Sprint discipline, but the start date tba http://www.seti-germany.d...gory/boinc-pentathlon/ Update (05/05/2014): The project (Collatz Conjecture) will not be replaced, since it got many more votes than any other project and a change would cause technical effort. Only its time frame is changed and will be announced 3 days prior to the start.
I apologize for any confusion this may have caused. Hope we’ll still have an exciting fifth BOINC Pentathlon.

I was curious how this event would affect our standings over at Formula Boinc. I took a quick look and we were in the 17th position for POGS at the start of the Pentathlon. We have since moved up to 14th place for the project. If we make it into the top ten we will then begin earning points for our teams over all standings in the Formula Boinc contest, we are currently in 17th place overall with 88 points. As for the upcoming Pentathlon projects, Rosetta we are currently in 29th place and 17th for Collatz. http://formula-boinc.org/index.py?lang=en&team=101326&year=2014

I am having an issue "bunkering" on my 4P. I am not sure what the issue is, as it has done so fine on both of the 2P blades. All 3 installs are exactly the same ([H] appliance) but the 2P's are on 32GB SSD's while the 4P is on a 16GB. That is the only thing I can think of, is it is running out of space. I guess if I can't get it figured out, I will kick it over the pogs, as I don't need to bunker for that. Any ideas? Or should I start its own thread?
