i believe nis at newegg showed the ssc in stock but i guess their gone... wow that was fast aparantly their is alot of love for evga (strix and g1 both still in stock 20+ units avail as of this post)
I am gonna buy a g1 and if it clocks over 1500 im returning the ssc of if anyone wants it local to florida i would be willing to let it go instead of returning it to newegg we shall see this weekend!

I would love to get one of these but.... why when I can get an MSI, Gigabyte, Asus, or PNY reference card for $549?
 
I am still not understanding what justifies the $50 increase whether EVGA makes them or not.

I was needing to find Four of those EVGA GTX 980 SC ACX 2.0 cards for Testing in my 4-Way SLI Build while I'm still waiting for the GTX 980 Classifieds to be released.  

Looks like I'll never be able to get them lol

I really hope that EVGA is releasing these in small batches so that people just trying to buy a bunch for reselling get screwed.

So I am in Canada and trying to order the evga 980 from amazon canada. I just ordered it on Thursday but it is back ordered. Any ideas when it will become available? Should I buy it somewhere else?

Try Newegg.ca - they are out of stock right now, but they have auto-notify for when new stock comes in..
 

 
I'm in US, but EVGA said a day or two ago on these forums that stock should be starting to increase and come more frequently from now on, so I'd expect something to show very soon - Newegg is a major retailer.. then again, so is Amazon :)  Try both.. first come, first serve.
 
My 980's I got through auto-notify on EVGA website. I got my wife's 970 through Newegg (although I am replacing it with a 980 that I also got through auto-notify on EVGA website).

The GTX 900 cards are a myth

This deal is normal... high demand.  Happens every generation of card I've seen released, be it a motherboard or GPU.  I just watch the threads and gather information and I make my decision to purchase based on the input I've gathered and purchase them about 4 months out after release, that way I know they are probably going to be in stock.

I live in Canada as well, and bought my first card from Newegg on Sept 22. Got it the 29th after the weekend. Bought a second card on Oct 9th and got it on the 14th.

Yeah ... but I guess I am in a particularly bad need for two high-end cards for this second rig of mine.  I have cabbaged a card from my first rig to use in my second rig and I want to put it back.
 
This is worse than when the 680s were released two years ago.

I'm with you on this. I have to send my second card out for replacement tomorrow leaving me with nothing. I'm tired of buying, waiting, returning, and waiting so I'd like to get a classy and call it a day. My F5 key is about to break. Not sure why they'd list is so far in advance to it actually being sold.
