Nereus LOL.. I added myself to the auto-notify list for 980SC and 970SC.. received the following email timestamped 6:56pm today (Sunday):
Dear EVGA Customer, EVGA is happy to announce the product that you requested to be notified is now available. Please click on the link below to make your purchase.
So I click the link a couple of hours later when I actually have the time to read the email. The card is not available. I guess new stocks sold out almost immediately. On a Sunday night. I sigh and put myself back on auto-notify.
I get the feeling this is going to go on for a while. Shame we can't just pay for the card now to get in line for delivery, rather than rely on being lucky enough to be able to log on at the precise moment more stock comes in. Also that would let the suppliers know how much stock they need... but hey, that would make too much sense right? lol.
Amazon will let you reserve a spot in their stock. They will only charge your payment method when the unit ships. Look for items that give a shipping time frame or say temporarily out of stock. I highly suggest that anyone who isn't willing to check retailers multiple times a day does that.

qlaval I wonder if EVGA will prioritize owners who are using the "Set-up" program to get a GTX 980 vs regular buyers?
Why would they do that? Im owner of EVGA cards but I cant Step-up but want buy new cards too. I guess that will be unfair to all of us if they will do either way except first come first serve. Guys please post here if there is any availability of these cards online, I'm hunting for 3 GTX 980 SC

I dont think that anybody is complaining about that, I just asked to keep updating this topic if people find cards online.

If it's first come first serve, then users of the "set-up program" are first since they are already in queue for weeks if not months compare to a regular buyer trying to put their hands on the product...

Just out of curiosity, it's the 970 FTW that has the new ACX cooler designed for this card, right? Not the left over coolers from the 700 series that they slapped onto these cards that everyone is reporting so much trouble with? I'd prefer not to pay $369 for coil whine and worse cooling performance than Evga's competitors.

Yup, and those are Amazon supplied cards - no resellers adding 20% markup. Still stock there 15 minutes after above post.

Ordered from Amazon. They do NOT have them in stock, but they expect to have them any time between 2 and 5 weeks, hence the "Usually ships in 2 to 5 weeks" on the product page. I spoke with customer service (India) just now to verify that they have, indeed, had possession of some of these cards and have sold out, and expect to have more anytime between 2 and 5 weeks from [mystery date]. Long story short, I've ordered things which "usually ship in..." and they never shipped (waited months), and I've ordered things there which "usually ship in..." and received them long before the specified date range. It's pretty much, "Hey, guys, we have this cool thing that everyone wants, but we don't really have it, but you can order it and we *should* get some more, and we'd really like your money to be spent here, so... just buy it, ok?" The actual date you receive it is often hit-or-miss; the good news is their customer service is great, and getting a refund is easy. Cynicism aside, I ordered one on Amazon, and I'm on the email notification here; whichever site I'm able to grab one will be the proud owner of my money. Oh, and in case anyone is wondering, I specifically asked if Amazon.com is an authorized reseller for evga, and was told they are an authorized retailer. ETA: lol, just looked at my forum info - "new member" - I've had evga cards since evga started selling them at circuit city :D shows how loud I am about it...

Sorry to hear that, Nereus. You can call UPS automated line and arrange for them to hold it at the facility, so you can pick-up during lunch or after work. That's what I've done in the past, when a signature was required.
