Soon enough, it could be a really bad idea to steal an iPhone or iPad.    Link

There are android apps (and I think Norton Mobile) that also do the selfie thing with stolen phones/tablets, as well as report location, as well as set off a very loud alarm.. been around for ages. The fingerprint thing is new to me though.

Almost all iphones are icloud locked anyways. They steal it, it's useless to them. 99% of the iphones and ipads on ebay are icloud locked bricks.

+1. icloud phones are very hard to bypass.

American Criminal League Union would never allow that to be used effectively.

    very bad idea.
somebody loses a phone, it gets picked up and found  someplace. they put it in there lost in found, or try to turn it on to tell the person where the phone is by email or something. they now will have their fingerprints stored?  doesn't matter if it helps track  people who really are stealing if innocent people get caught in the mess
