I loved the entire series, but this one seems a bit off-track to me. 

I agree with you on this one. I think Ubisoft is trying another approach to the Far Cry series. But, they might have gone "too far". Perhaps an approach such as Egypt, or even Honduras (they do have the highest crime rate in the world, just saying.) would have been better.
 
Using the animals as your "weapons" (let's face it, that's what it really is) doesn't really seem right when you compare using a sniper rifle in Far Cry 4.

I personally do not like far cry but blood dragon was pretty cool.

At least they are trying something new , without using guns & explosives or aliens or zombies..?  

I'll end up getting it. I'm not going to be a pre-order or early adopter though.

Might be fun. Reminds me of The old Turok.

when it hits lower than $ 23  or so ,,,, maybe

I'm still waiting on a Blood Dragon sequel.

far cry 4 was LOADED with content to where it was unbearable and overwhelming. There was so much to do that if you stopped to do a side quest, you would literally get "side tracked" and forget about the main story.

Very True but that's what I loved about it. I love a lot more content in the game so there's more to do rather than getting 100% finished with the game in less than a week. Blood Dragon was awesome!

The part where you get kidnapped and you try and escape...Once you get down the mountain, and are left with just a knife to try and escape, OMG.... I was stuck on that part for like a month.

I got stuck in a few places in Far Cry 4 and had to 'cheat' by watching a video walkthrough but I still have a lot of Assassination missions and other side quests I haven't done yet. This game has kept me occupied for a very long time. I think I got my money's worth and then some. No complaints from me with Far Cry 4.

The last Farcry I played was 3 and it was so bad I didn't even finish it. This franchise is not for me. The open world is largely wasted because they don't fill it with content.

Was it really or was it the exact same game assets just used over repeatedly? Farcry 2 and 3 were notorious for that. In fact it was so lazy it was borderline insulting.

There is a ton of more stuff to do in 4 than 3, I will admit that, but in my opinion, 4 had so much content that I never even finished the game. Some of it was definitely repetitive. But the graphics were top notch.

 
I haven't even finished the other ones. 

1st review I've seen of it,.... and it's not to nice.

Nope, Ghost Recon's open world looks wayyyyy better. 
The Division open world looks insane too, got my hands on the beta last week.
Far Cry looks very cool and the animals are even cooler.
