OK, thanks for explaining that to me. I spent more than a few years in Utah with many trying to explain things to me but I never grasped the concept of Zion or the different angels like Moroni.

No worries. I've lived here most of my life and I still can't grasp the concept either.  I just nod my head, pretend that I know (or care) about what their going on about and then go somewhere else.

Holy Cow... Are things this hard to figure out or am I just that stupid? Yeah, go ahead and say it, I don't mind because as stumped as Im feeling at the moment, it must be true. Looking at a reservoir/pump combos from EK. I want this reservoir: https://shop.ekwb.com/ek-res-x3-250 And this pump: https://shop.ekwb.com/ek-.op-revo-d5-pwm-incl-pump To be honest, I don't really want a PWM D5, so I would pick up a non PWM D5 from somewhere else. And I want them together like this: https://shop.ekwb.com/ek-xres-140-revo-d5-pwm-incl-pump But I can't seem to find the piece that would adapt the reservoir to the pump. Am I missing something here? Because I can't seem to find the adapter that I need. Am I just going to have to buy the 140 combo and then buy the 250 res? Because if thats the case, I'll pick up this: http://www.xs-pc.com/wate...70-reservoirpump-combo I'm not a big fan of that combo, but it's much cheaper than the alternative mentioned above.

OMG... I couldn't see the forest for the trees.  You know how many times I looked at the page with the extra reservoirs and didn't see them?  And yeah, I don't get why the only offer the PWM D5. I can live with having a PWM pump, but I would really prefer to have a standard pump. My case will fit a 400, but that just seems kind of huge. I was just planning on a single 250 reservoir.

The 250 is plenty, I went with the same just because it makes filling the system a bit more convenient, a larger res looks "cooler" but does nothing for performance.  btw, I am at the same point in my next build, got all the stuff, just starting to lay out my plan and get it all together. What's wrong with the PWM D5 pump? I am still learning too and would like to know if there is a reason why this pump is undesireable and whether or not I should leave it off of my future upgrade list.

Since Im far from knowledgeable about this stuff myself, we can hope that Dave, Hallowen or one of the others will stop by and explan the differences between the two better. But there's nothing wrong with a PWM pump. To me it comes down to "automatic" vs. "manual".
Like PWM fans the pump allows the motherboard or a controller like the Aquaero to control the speed of the pump. Non PWM pumps are basically "set it and forget it" with 5 speed settings.
The main reason I want a non PWM pump is the "set and forget" ability.

Hallowen seems like the man with a plan but Dave seems to get OCD with his watercooling performance and is no slouch either. I lowered my pump speed to 80% trying to eliminate the bubbles forming in my res from being churned up by the return flow. No air is entering my loop but I'm thinking about moving it back to 100% just to get better flow through the loop.

I was told by EK support that if I ever wanted an EK product or had any questions that I should contact Performance PCs as they are the authorized EK supplier for the USA. http://www.performance-pcs.com/They have a chat feature on their home page when they are open.

There are a LOT of options out there, confused me more than any others when I was selecting parts, I ended up going with this and plan to install a separate res vertically, unless I change my mind yet again, LOL

I was originally looking at the CaseLabs Mercury S8 with a pedestal. The reservoir would sit in the front window and the pump and rads would be down in the pedestal.  Plans changed and I started looking at the Magnum M8A instead. More room and easier to work on.  And then I got to thinking, why not just combine the pump with the reservoir and save the extra hassle of running more tubing than you need.

oh, if you do buy anything from PPC make sure to click the "get discount" yellow tab on the right side of the screen before checking out for 5-10 % off total <-- not affiliated but do buy from them, often. I usually use the USPS shipping option, cheapest!

Good catch on those parts. Leaves me much less grumpy at EK. Of course, last night I was only looking on the EK website and hadn't started digging through all the stuff a PPC. And you are correct, the Caselabs cases do come with mounting plates for pumps and reservoirs. I only ordered a single one, but Im thinking I might want to add a double plate to my order (they haven't built it yet). just in case. I've also ordered a lot of stuff from PPC as well. They were very helpful in helping me get my hands on the GPU blocks for my cards, but I've never hit the "get discount" button. DOH!

That bracket is for the other style D5 or DDC top (SQUARE), X3 res/pump COMBO I believe, edit: if you do find you need a bracket part or are missing something you need, shoot me a p.m. I have a lot of bracket parts laying around.

did you like, tweet, google, pin it or other in the popup box? if you dont see the box you may have to disable ad blocker, thats how it works, for me every time I have used it,

I've been busy today. Ordered Alphacool UT60 360mm radiator x2 EK-D5 Vario motor EK-XRES 100 D5 pump top res EK-XRES 250 Tube EK-Supremecy EVO CPU block Primoflex LRT tubing 1/2" x 3/4" Onyx Black 13' Corsair SP120 fans x12 Corsair AF120 fans x6 Petra PT Nuke I think the only thing Im really missing is the fittings. The ones going into the CPU block and the top and bottom of the GPU bridge will be easy to figure out. But I would like to get the radiators mounted in the case so I can see what I need to do before guessing on those. Also, I need to figure out replacement GPU(s) for my current system AmmoCan. Because I want to have it up and running as soon as possible after I pull all the really important parts out of it for the new system. EDIT: I knew I forgot something. I meant to order a hose cutter and didn't. Amazon should have those.
