Forgot to post these pictures. Just something someone asked me to make. I thought it came out well: Took a slab of delrin and cutout an EVGA logo as an extrusion. Then cut out the same logo in clear polycarbonate and got a precision fit. here its sandblasted. First attempt was to try out LED's in various spots, but personally I didn't care for the glowing dots look (which I dont mind on the V & A) So then I opted to hog out the entirety of material behind each letter (leaving a small lip for the letters) and I think it came out MUCH better:

very nice Nate, I like the full lit effect. I'm sure a slot in the clear poly just above and / or below the logo to slide in an led strip, like a Darkside 7" for an offset lighting effect would be a super nice look too. You got skills !

He would need to contact EVGA for approval before selling items with any EVGA copyrighted logo.

Great looking project nateman! How big is that one, and where is it designed to go? If you could shrink it down to fit in a bay,I think it would be perfect. I really don't think there is much you can't do my friend, seriously. :)

Really? Lol. I seriously doubt EVGA would do anything about it. If he started mass producing them, maybe, but even then EVGA doesn't have any product even close to that. Even to further extend, all he has to say is 'any affiliation to any company is purely coincidental and they can't do anything. -eyeroll-

They may not want to, but they do have to protect their trademark and stop copyright infringement. EVGA may give him the green light, but I would bet if he had dozens for sale on e-bay they would have to say something.
Yea that's what I was saying. If he does a few I reeeeally don't think they are going to care. What trademark is he infringing though? Is it the logo itself? It's not like he is building a custom graphics card and saying it's an EVGA card. O.o

bill1024 Yeah I am thinking the logo itself. If you make one for yourself is one thing. Start selling them or even giving them away with out the logo owner saying it's ok, maybe a problem. The logo is what identifies a company and has to be protected. Here the op is not trying to hide something, and I am sure it is meant as a complement .
There have been several graphics card backplate makers who have contacted EVGA prior to selling EVGA logo backplate items. Giving them away would probably not be an issue but it is always best to contact EVGA beforehand just to be sure. Anyway the vanity plate is a remarkable piece of work with fantastic craftsmanship.

I think all you would have to do is ask and they would OK it. I seriously doubt they would ever consider making such a product, and it's basically free advertisement. Lol.

I really have to argue for everyone's sake, and for EVGA's sake. first off, they are not going to care. second, it's free advertising. Third, the "buyer" is not buying the logo, but the workmanship, and craftsmanship, that Nate has done on his item he has created. With that being said, though I'm not a lawyer, I would say it's perfectly safe to do.
