    that's a bit pricey for me.... even with a hefty performance increase (on the highest end X chip)

    The performance seems underwhelming to me, on the 6800K (the chip I'd consider over a 5820K)

    The overclocking concerned me as well, where they said you can only run it at stock speeds on air.

    As another x58 user, this isn't that concerning given the age of x58. It's still faster than the 5820k, and in my opinion worth the price jump from the 5820k.

    People value things differently. There is nothing in this release of CPUs that excites me. The performance is, as per usual from Intel, small percentage above what already exists. The only good thing about this release is the platform has been retained.
