It be nice if Jacob can give us a size (dimensions) for the board so we can plan accordingly for the new dual socket board

dont expect anything more out of jacob, you know how secretive they are about the boards. just base your plans on the current SR2 size, EVGA cant let the board get any bigger or they will alienate all the current users (IMO) cause everyone would have to buy a new case again

AMD is a good company. They just need a good 'come back' CPU against Intel.

Totally agree but there are just so many more options on the Intel side.  On anotehr note, I wish they would hurry up with Bulldozer.

Jacob can we get a shot of PCI slot configuration? Even if it's for a Micro X79, it'd be awesome if we could get 4 full size PCIe slots on a Micro board, that would be sick for a 4 Way setup. (Doable on air with 5770s or on water with most cards.)

im pretty sure all of the new intel chipsets will have UEFI, seems like everyone is switching over (and i think a couple of the diagrams said UEFI support)

I think it is the time to let the PCI go Sim. It was good and all but we must find strength and just say good bye.

I would agree if PCIE sound cards out numbered PCI. I see no reason to ditch a perfect working high-end sound card just to use EVGA brand mobo. All the other vendors give customers the choice by adding support for PCI on at least one version of their motherboards.

Just so you know, legacy PCI 2.3 support is not native on any Sandy Bridge chipset, so vendors that use PCI will charge a premium because they would have to go out of their way to add it.  I don't know if it will be more than EVGA's loyality tax though.

TEC/Peltier definitions, formulas and temperature estimations

For Intel processors, 0.122 x TDP = Continuous Amps at 12v [source].

My thoughts exactly. You will pay  more per mobo just to have PCI slot.

They may charge premium but that's still lower than the EVGA tax. And when you start paying more for less there's a problem, at least in my book.

I'm beginning to wonder since when did all of the no more PCI slots, die PCI people thought EVGA, as a motherboard manufacturer, started to be a trend setter on this kind of things. Usually (meaning 99% of the time) Intel motherboards start cutting away old tech, but hey what do you know, Intel's SB boards still have a PCI slot.
A more plausible explanation is that being so late with SB motherboards they said , screw PCI slots, we'll say were aimed at enthusiasts who have the latest and greatest and an x amount of people said on the forums to let go of the PCI. I wounder how that went in terms of sales...

Aggressor Prime

There will be a successor to the SR-2 using LGA2011 that was said to be expected one month after EVGA launches their first X79 board. The Super Record brand is not going away.

when will that be?
