Could you please give us an idea if this board is going to be a regular ATX? By the looks of the CPU socket, it is going to be E-ATX right?

I really want to upgrade, but I don't see the point of upgrading if the boards that are going to be released this year won't be PCI-EX 3.0 compatible. 


Yes, a bit over ATX size.

  Will it still fit in a case for a ATX mobo?  I just bought a Corsair Graphite 600T SE for it.

according to the wiki article on the intel ivy bridge, the highest unlocked 6 core is unknown on the price but one step down still fully unlocked 6 core is 999.99 just like the hex core i7 was on release.

I hope not after they sprang HPTX on us, it took forever to get more than like 2 cases that fully supported it out of the box...speaking of which, we still haven't seen that EVGA case...what happened to it?

Can't wait to pre-order one of these!!  My 759 has been one great board but looking forward to SATA 6 and USB 3.0.  Then I will jump on board with a SSD.  Been saving for awhile now.  Some exciting times ahead!

i would agree, the SR-2 had a pretty bad launch as far as case support goes. 
I wouldn't blame them, just about any i5520 chipset board with dual 1366's was huge, considering the customers that typically get them for server or workstation uses don't care about not having wide selection of cases.  Add in the nF200's needed for extra PCIe lanes, there wasn't any way around having a bigger form factor.  Remember, EVGA was trying to satisfy as many demanded features at once to reduce the need for multiple SKU's and have the highest return on investment, which caused the board to get big in the first place.
 
I think if someone's heart was in it, worrying about case support is a non-issue, that they will figure it out because having the board was more important...
 
It would make sense if dual2011's would fit in the same size board, elimination of the northbridge may compensate for the larger socket space.
 
As for how these boards may look, just be on the look out for any "C600 series" chipset (which in the dual-DMI version of Patsburg, i.e. not X79) that use Xeon E5-2600 series CPUs.
