It seems like Amazon is the best place to buy a 980Ti, but also the worst. Amazon provides a full refund with no questions asked, with refunded shipping and shipping back to them. New Egg only replaces and no refund with customer paid shipping back to them. EVGA says they will charge a restock fee for refunds and requires customer paid shipping back to them... However, Amazon does not limit quantities and so resellers eat up all Amazon's supply and then turn around and sell them for over 100 dollars over retail. I have never seen a 980Ti in stock at Amazon. While EVGA and New Egg limit customer quantities to 3 and 1... I am torn, who do you think that I should buy this from? I suppose EVGA, because they will actually refund something if I am totally dissatisfied?

It does not matter. period.  Are you really that concerned about a refund?  Because as far as anything goes with RMA/defects, you're gonna send it to EVGA anyway.

As a consumer you have to choose the retail store you like best and that you trust the most.

AMD Ryzen 9 7950X,  Corsair Mp700 Pro M.2, 64GB Corsair Dominator Titanium DDR5  X670E Steel Legend, MSI RTX 4090 Associate Code: H5U80QBH6BH0AXF. I am NOT an employee of EVGA

Yeah, that would be Amazon, but good luck getting a card from them right now. And to the other poster, yes it does matter a lot. I went through about 5 780's that had horrible coil while (you could hear it through a wall)... Amazon returned them with no questions asked and refunded the money. I eventually went with another version of the card and there was no coil whine. However, neither Newegg or EVGA would refund my money back so I could get another version of the card. So, yes, when you are buying an expensive card it does matter.

Tigerdirect is my preference because of no tax, but of course they have the worst customer service of any etailer so if you have a problem you are SOL.

Amazon is great for their return policies. However, I always need to pay tax. You can sometimes buy from resellers and avoid the tax. However, I am prime member and want to make use of it. Newegg return policy on video cards sucks. I have heard of others having their cards returned  and accepted. But, this is not always the case.

EVGA store if you can (supplies always depleted)
Newegg will charge tax if they have a location in your state, I don`t buy anything from Newegg if it`s real expensive, too much tax.

For me, Amazon is not a possibility since they charge sales tax in my state. There's no point in wasting another 8.1% in sales tax on Amazon. I can buy from Newegg and EVGA without paying sales tax. That's one thing you should not forget to consider!

Not in my state. "As of January 1, 2014, 5 states (Alaska, Delaware, Montana, New Hampshire and Oregon) do not levy a sales tax" https://en.wikipedia.org/...s_in_the_United_States

I can't even order from evga website. Their site for some reason does not recognize my address in New York. Any idea why that might be the case. Address is in 11413 springfield gardens.

Went EVGA. Has been a great experience so far and the card is great with no coil whine during gaming. Of course, like any card, running 2000 FPS there is some coil whine. They shipped the card out promptly, I appreciated the extra security measure (verification and signature) and the card arrive on time. Funny story, Amazon sent my last card (that I bought from them) three houses down. I got an email saying the card was delivered. Luckily, the people were not home and I went to check if they delivered it to a neighbor... sure enough, it was sitting on a porch down the road.
