Playing bf1 Ultra settings(apt is cool today)
Evga Precision XOC v6.0.9
Gpu clock   2076 mhz
Memory clock   4131 mhz
Gpu temp       69 c               was up to 76C before
Memory usage    3579 mb
Fan Speed       69%
Cpu1 temp         66c
Framerate       65 fps
I feel it is ok and I have set fans back to default 0<60c
I had handy some Antec Formula 6 Nano Diamond Thermal Compound for Gpu sink.
Note My themal pads were mabey touching vram 50% coverage at best but after putting the new pads and pulling it apart
again I had 100% coverage, the vrm or the power units were covered ok from the factory. I added the other pads and good to go.
Took 3 days to receive after marked shipped(I am in Cali and they came from Cali)
Good luck

    What is this thermal update

The new ACX 3.0 10 series cards reach the thermo limit and is concerning.  EVGA pushed out a bios update and also offers replacement pads for better heat dissipation.

http://www.evga.com/thermalmod/  <- read the 11/1/2016 update for more information about it.  I've only heard about it from other users that have ran into this issue with their cards.

it makes a huge difference to the card(1080ftw), but it just shows that this card wants to run with a waterblock attached rather than the blast from the fans, i had to DDU my drivers and then reinstall after thermal mod fitted
