So I recently cancelled my 2x1080 FTW for 2 Classified's when they come out. I'm doing a new build and thought since I had to wait for EK and the wateblocks I might as well wait for the classy cards and the Ek blocks for those. My build is listed below and my question is, with this much going in should I be patient and wait or should I have kept the ftw's? FYI-Still kind of a newb with hardware and builds but reading as much as I can.
I7 6700k
Asus Maximus viii Hero Alpha
32Gig Corsair Dominator Plat 3200MHZ
Samsung 850 pro 500gb  ssd-(I plan on getting 2 in raid)
Baracuda 3tb hd
Corsair AX 1500I
2x evga 1080FTW-(cancelled and changed to classies when available)
evga hb bridge-(when available to me)
Nzxt phantom 820 (white)
custom loop water cooling with ek parts

May I inquire why you are wanting them over reference PCB cards? The reference board performs the same as the FTW at this point, so you'll basically be paying for the RGB feature. The FTW is still less costly than founder edition, so it isn't a bad price, and I am jot trying to sway your decision at all.

I had got them for the lower price and the rgb option. I had thought that the extra power phases and the 2x8pin would help with some stability when oc. Then I figured i'd wait for the classified as I read you can increase the voltage without too much messing around and that will help when oc'ing and aslo ek will have the blocks around the same time. Still kinda new to this though and just been reading stuff.

The Classy may be bound by the same "rules" as the FTW and all other cards. At this time, it is very hard to speculate as many people with the ability to conduct extreme overclocks are having issues pushing these cards very far. I would honestly go for the FTW or Classy just for the RGB feature in mind, and the slightly lower cost, and keep in mind that voltage hasn't helped even people using Liquid Nitrogen all that much at this point. K|ngp|n and very few others have made it past 2300 mhz with crazy amounts of voltage. So far, K|ngp|n has been able to edge past 2800, but they butchered the board and soldered new parts on to get to that number.

Go in with an open mind that the extra voltage may not actually help. Also, you said EKWB. If you aren't prepared to take the cooler apart and risk a charge for removing parts of the cooler, you may lose the RGB feature completely. The waterblocks typically don't come with lights, and if they do, usually they are single color and you have to pay extra. I know some RGB let's are out there, but it may require modifying some other parts to get them to fit. Just keep all of this in mind.

Sorry should have mentioned I had originally picked them for the rgb feature when I was just going to be air cooled but then ponied up for the ekwb and some led strips so yes the rgb option is no longer valid I guess. It sounds like the classified may not be worth the wait and I shoulda stuck with the FTW's. This is a lot of money for me so I didn't wanna look back in two months and be like "man I shoulda been more patient"...

If they have very low profile, mini 4 pin connectors, RGB is 100% possible. You may have to "work" to get them running. :-) I spent hours running a dremel on my waterblocks to make the connector fit, and it was beautiful once it was complete.

Your are more confident with your dremel then I am with mine! If I grab one its for some type of wood/mdf which means it won't cost me an arm and a leg if I mess up and need to replace lol.

Just pressure test the Waterblock ahead of time. You don't have to do anything to the gpu itself.. Also, I used a terrible dremel. I want to make things impressive, and those waterblocks with RGB are impressive.
