    Makes NO sense that the smaller, lesser resolution is still  $750.00   ???

    Totally agree.  I would rock 2 of those ACER 1440P monitors if they came down in price.

    I think the price difference between the 4k and 1440p is because the 1440p is IPS, while the 4k is TN. I'm waiting for OLED monitors at 4k with gsync before upgrading again, and that make be some ways off (only OLED monitor I know of atm is a $5000 dell, and that's way out of my price range.)
