I'm still looking for a Low Profile Cards 970 or 980.
That would end up being a self-DIY project, probably requiring a waterblock. Do you remember the hysteria over 8800GT? It was single-slot 105W card, but its cooler (as a result of profile) got too warm and the fan was loud. You have to think about what you're willing to trade in just to get it smaller.
bcavnaughI wonder what is in the chain for EVGA as far as Single Slot or Low Profile Cards.
Historically, just look at their product page; most single-slot and low-profile are mainstream or slower GPUs. Single-slot hasn't been high-end since the 7900GT, and they were <100W cards.
I've noticed EVGA will add their dual-slot and full-profile heatsinks to market their brand for low temps and quiet operation to those that aren't interested in extreme overclocking-- almost as if that is the edge EVGA sells for those cards. GTX750 TI is a great example, being a 65W card.
EVGA was two years late with making an overclockable miniITX board, they might have the same delay (waiting for market growth) before competing with ASUS and Gigabyte with a miniITX GeForce GTX card. May 2013 was when ASUS debuted a mini GTX670, for reference. Next year EVGA could try something.

It's like ASUS took a GTX990 design and cut it in half.
Evidence that just about anything is technically possible, given the size of Titan-Z, a shorter 6GB Titan Black was also possible (thus a shorter GM200 is also possible). But the cut would be the enhanced circuity for overclocking, unless we are willing to pay the crazy premium for being so small, enter the mobile GPU card.
