RX 480 already on Alientech ( my Usual Shop) and the prices are GOOD.. i mean.... really GOOD!
i mean.. are you kidding me? 295€ to 315€ for a RX380? that's marvelous!  waaay better then 500€ to 800€ prices from nVidia....

im gonna wait for benchies on these ones...
besides, according to the site, the 1st shipment of these RX480.. is already SOLD OUT (except the xfx brand that arrives tomorrow)!!
the 2nd shipment is due to the 1st week of July

and another thing i did not expect to see...  XFX  next to the name RADEON... and such affordable price...  295€ for a RX480 with 8GB GDDR5 and DX12 compatible??
    i payed 275€ for my gtx760 2GB over a year ago!

    cant wait for the benchies...

    1st - that's an excellent review!

    2nd....
AMD just released a cheaper "contender" for the Geforce900 series with 8GB of mem and DX12 support..... and it does heat up ALOT!

i dunno about this...that thing was using some Crimson Edition 16.6.2 beta drivers in this review...
maybe when those drivers "mature" it will have better wattage and graphical performance..

less see what happens further down the road...  against a GTX1060..
it's too soon to make serious conclusions... but the price range is quite decent for the gfx performance...  that wattage performance is not good at all...

That's cool.  AMD is finally competing with the GTX 970.  They're 2 years late.  Maybe they'll compete with the GTX 1070 in 2018.  The verdict from the peasants:

"NEW PERFORMANCE PER DOLLAR KING!  RIP GTX 970!"
    "NVIDIA SUX!  AMD MASTER RASE!"
    "RIP BINTEL AND NVIDIOTS LOLOLOL!"

    From the article up above:

Believe it or not, the situation gets even worse. AMD's Radeon RX 480 draws 90W through the motherboard’s PCIe slot during our stress test. This is a full 20 percent above the limit.

The performance is ok-ish with the official price but at least with the reference cards this is a problem that needs fixing asap. Think that in the chase to at least give 970/390 performance, AMD when a little over board with the clock on the 480.

    System: 7820X - MSI X299 Carbon AC - G.Skill 32Gb TridentZ 3200 - EVGA 1080 Ti - 500 Gb Samsung 970 EVO , 2Tb Crucial MX500, 2Tb, 3Tb, 4Tb Seagate - Seasonic 1000W Prime - Creative Sound Blaster Z - Windows 10 Pro 64 - Phanteks Enthoo Primo - Edifier S530D - Acer Predator XB271HU (1440p)

    Watercooling loop: Heatkiller CPU - EK 1080 Ti - Swiftech MCP 655 with EK X-Top v2 - XSPC reservoir - Alphacool 480 x2

The RX 480 competes with the GTX 960 in its price range. The AMD R9 FURY X is now around $460, which is in direct competition with the GTX 1070.

Sometimes I don't know where some of us come from.
Take the logo off the card.
    $199
    150w give or take
    DP with freesync supports
    HDMI with freesync supports
    HDMI 2.0
    Full DX12 supports
Cheap enough to toss a 2nd card in.
    Single 6pin connector.
One slot wide if you choose to water cool.
    Short PCB.

Not a bad buy, and its going to play all your games too.
Another cool thing is that you're not forced to buy it.

It's a great card and the clear price-to-performance king.  I don't think anyone is denying that.  The hype by the fans unfortunately seems to be driven by hatred of Nvidia.  It just sort of puts a bad taste in my mouth.  Also, AMD has been pretty smug about this release and I really don't like how they're marketing the card.

Fans are not AMD, that's like not like the a band because its fans are annoying.

The AMD campaign hasn't been smug, I think you're reading too deep into it or have some feels you may need to work out with. The word has been "Affordable and next gen ready". The card isn't even competing with Nvidia's two monsters, they know they can't top that type of performance yet and they aren't aiming at that market. They are campaigning to get all the people who used/use cards like the 970 or 380, they are campaigning to take back market shares.
We need this type of attitude in our market!

Also who gives a poop about campaigning, it all comes down to benchmarks/price/specs/your build(s) needs.

    OR
i have it all wrong and I've been doing it incorrectly this entire time.
    Its entire possible.
