Looks like I am having a hard time finding use for my AMD R9 290X to Crunch on.
MilkyWay@Home tells me that they do not support AMD R238 or so other odd number.
Collatz Conjecture is down, someone is on Vacation.
GPUGrid only supports NVIDIA.
Einstein@Home is the only one out their or are their other projects to run?

If you want to step out of BOINC, you could also try RC5-72 or GIMPS.  The latter is more involved with setup and getting/returning work.

It took me about three-months before I gave up on trying to make my 290 SETI

That OK, I now have Collatz and Einstein@Home that run GPU on the R2 290x that is.
Closing down for the Summer but new to run a lest on each of my rigs as took off Collatz so I need to add it back.

Running Collatz Conjecture after being down for a few weeks, here is what I started today.
Running Large on all three Rigs Set to 1 CPU Each All Running 4.3 GHz
 
2 R9 290X Current Driver Run Time 19 Hours
3 GTX 680 Classifieds 327.23 Run Time 15 Hours
3 GTX 780 Current Driver Run Time 9 Hours.
 
While the R9 can Fold well it can't Crunch well on GPUs that is.
Also Orange_1050 is on my tail, well kind of.

Well, that had to be a mighty long tail.
I'm on vacation now, only able to Reach out from a Laptop from time to time.
I left my crunchers behind, doing some cpu work.
Not comfortable to let the 780 heaters run unattended 24/7 for 3 weeks. I might TeamVew in to do some wu's if the weather/ temps allows it. 
I like the color on Your Collatz badge, so in not too long time, I'll have to look closer into this matter

Yes and each got their own CPU, Same as my NVIIDA Cards.

I just use an app_config, but rather edit the blank config file that comes with the excutable in the boinc/collatz projects directory. Mine's called: large_collatz_6.04_windows_x86_64__opencl_amd_gpu.config
 
and I use:

threads=12
sleep=1
 
What I found when first adding it is it made no difference to the current work unit, even when restarting boinc, it's only when it went onto the next work unit (I deleted the current one) it kicked in, but before my GPUs weren't running at 100%, but still might be worth a try though.

2 R9 290X Start Run Time 19.5 Hours
I will let it run for an hour to see if it changes.
 
Using 750 Watts of Power, WOW!
 
Temps are 48C on both cards and time now looks better at maybe 12 hours to complete.
Now to get my 4P back up and running.

I was wondering what the threads=12 means My old setting was 8.
At least my time count is down now correct so the time might right now.

I do wonder why we need to set the AMD but not the NVIDIA?
I am thinking about using the same setting on NVIDIA to test, I do know that I cannot Crunch on the CPU as with the AMD taking 750 Watts for only 2 AMD Cards leave not much power for Crunching CPU Cores.

Not really seeing a change for NVIDIA Cards with a custom .config file.

Finished my first large using my 7950, 6.5 hours for 246,862.46 credits.

Not bad, mine were like 5.5 or so.
