yea i am ordering 1 more board and 4 of them 8389's on Tuesday seeing as i just sold off the last of my gpu's from the farm i had and with the 100.00 left from that i ordered 8 cooler master hyper 101A at $11.55 each for a grand total of 104.41 to my door from BestDirect in Canada

I also put in an offer and they just accepted. Paid for it, now that I have committed what else do I need. Have a PSU but have never used Linux so can use any guides available. What can be expected as to PPD and do I need to change CPU. Will 20 gig HD be okay. I am sure more questions will follow.

You'll find pretty much everything you need to know in this socket F guide. 3P socket F MB?  Edit: should have grabbed the one above your post you'd be folding bigadv in no time, already has the hex core CPU's and is a good price for what your getting. Cost me around $350 for that same setup and those 8425's are getting hard to find at a good price. 20GB HDD will work fine.

Most likely Hex core on 1 not sure about other one . Think they will start out with the 2 core cpu's and fold reg smp . Still got to do some research but I think I should be able to change out 2 cpu's at a time but not sure on that. My plan is to turn off my reg comps one by one. Hoping power bill will go down some. Edit Hehe who am I kidding I will never turn comps off but change them to full time crunchers.

These CPUs turbo all cores at 3ghz The turbo works in Linux right? I forgit how it was before with my e-5620. I could do a Linux VM in Windows to get that extra little bit. 34 min is the lowest to make dead line on xx01 WUs, If I remember right. I was home today and the mailman left a notice "sorry we missed you" I was home all day, so now I have to go pick up the chips tomorrow. I will post up how it goes. That link I posted on the 8431 that you said was done, is the same guy relisting them. Every time it ends and he relists, the price goes down a couple bucks. Wait a few more weeks and he will pay you to take them!!!!
