AHCI vs RAID on AMD 990FX

Hey guys, I need some input from any AMD guys out there.  I recently got a wild hair up my butt and built a 990FX/8350 rig, and I don't know how to set up my mobo. On my old Intel P55 they reccomended setting it to RAID even if I have individual drives, as I do no (a 256GB SSD and 600GB velociraptor).  Do I need to do the same thing on my ASUS M5A99FX 2.0?  Or is AHCI good enough?

    I run an AMD rig here to this day. I don't use the RAID setting in my BIOS, just AHCI after the initial Windows 7 installation. I haven't had any issues using that setting at all.

    You would really only set it to RAID in the BIOS if you plan on using a RAID configuration.  Otherwise, AHCI is the way to go.
