Reading through the link that was shared by the OP, I found a link to the Funeral Home's obituary page for Jeff. There is also a place there where we can leave a message to his Family. I would encourage everyone to post a message to let his family know how much we appreciated him and will miss him from our Folding family. http://wyuka.com/2012/03/...hamilton/#comment-4383

I'll join in on Friday too...won't take too much to push him over the million mark. I remember him posting alot, and his 125 blue ribbons attest to his helpfulness around the forums. It's a really sad day when we lose a good friend like him. For those who fold an/or crunch, keep up the good fight! Thanks for sending the flowers, rjohnson. Very nice of you to do that.

In case we are not able to get Jeffrey's passkey, is someone already creating/priming a key that we can use for some SMP Folding? I'd be happy to give it a go, but don't remember what is required and it could be questionable for me to get (10) done by Friday especially with some of these longer SMPs we are seeing lately. Do you just apply for a new Passkey, Fold the (10) SMP units to prime and then user his Folding User name?

basicly yes, enter his folding name, your e-mail, then request it. Then its the usual 10 wus and yada yada.

So, if I were to make that application and then share the Passkey here in this thread, could we all work on the (10) primed units together so that we could pull this off by Friday? Just want to check before doing anything.

I've requested a Passkey in his User name and just got the email from Stanford with the Key. Would it be OK to just post the Passkey here or do I need to handle that differently in some way?

I have just switched over my SR-2 to Jeffrey's User Name and Passkey that I requested and am working on 1 of 10 SMPs now. I seem to recall that people had some issue with posting a Passkey in public, but just don't know if that is an issue in this case. Until I hear back from someone in the know, you can PM me and I'll be happy to give you the Passkey and UserName for Jeffrey. If it is OK to post the Passkey here, then I'll come back and do that too. See Post #46 below for Jeffrey's info to Fold for him: http://forums.evga.com/fb.ashx?m=1487065

As for the passkey... Man I am not sure. What do we do during CC? Do we post it in the thread or is it pm'd to us? I do not remember....

I seem to recall that we PM'd the Passkey which was why I was hesitant to post it. But maybe in this case it would not matter? I already have (3) PC's priming SMP WUs under Jeffrey's name and if anyone else wants to get-in on the priming action, just PM me and I'll send you the info. See Post #46 below for the info to Fold for Jeffrey... http://forums.evga.com/fb.ashx?m=1487065

I'll switch over two of my SMP clients tonight when I get home to help prime the passkey if it is still needed at that point. That's probably the best way so we are all sure we are using the same one on Friday.

Thanks Khody, I can use the help. With the first (3) WU's I began working for Jeffrey, I unfortunately landed upon a 6097 and 6099 that take 8-10hrs to complete. But, I got a 6945 on my 3rd Rig, so that's good and hopefully I can snag more of the smaller SMPs for the (10) primes.

Didn't want to wait till Friday so I got a couple of 460's started last night. Also thinking about moving all my WGC work over on Friday to fight the Big C..... I think the reason to keep the CC passkey secerct was because of someone from another team failing WU's on the CC passkey.

Just post the passkey here - it's not like someone is going to sabotage it to win a competition or try to invalidate his points.

This^. Post the pass key and I'll chang over my SMP on my laptop. It gets the shorter wu's on it. That will help get the priming done faster.

☄ Helpful
Thanks for the advice guys on the Passkey. Here's the info for both priming these first (10) SMP WUs (if you want to participate) and also for use on Friday if you want to run some SMP or GPU WUs for Jeffrey. Username is: jeffreyham Folding@Home Client Passkey is: 81510d3d4306cb5b4619646346b393cf Team Number: 111065 Folding for Jeffrey using a GPU does not require that you use the above Passkey. Just enter his username and team number exactly as shown above into whatever you are using to Fold GPU WUs (FAH Console, FAH Tracker, etc). Folding for Jeffrey using a CPU for SMP WUs does require the Passkey if you want SMP Bonus points to apply to his username. Just change both the Username and Passkey (plus the EVGA team number) to the above in either your "FAH Console Client" or in "FAH Tracker", etc. Looking forward to what we can do in his honor... PS: After this is over, remember to reset the above to your normal Username and Passkey so that the credit will return to your account.
