If you're not liking the color of the 'e' but worry about warranty, just use some vinyl wrap. completely removable reversible. So you don't have to worry should you need to RMA,
 
I probably could have done a lot better with an actual super sharp x-acto knife and not some cheap and way too large blade from some utility cutters, and I had to do some clean up after the photo but you get the idea!
