First machine I've run on air in a while. From what I've read this is a common problem?
If I boot the machine without software (precision x) the main gpu will idle at 65-70. If I run precision x and then turn on auto fan control it will scream like s banshee and cool it down. I personally hate the new precision x and don't like the idea having to run this software all the time to just have 144hz desktop with ought cooking the gpu. The second gpu (sli)
Stays at a cooler 34'ish idle temp...
Is this just the way it is or do I have a problem with my cards?
My water cooled rig with tri-sli kingpins idles in the high 20's low 30's with the same setting and monitor.
From what ive read I need to down clock to 120hz for desktop use and use nvidia CP to tell the games to use highest refresh independently.

So I found my answer through testing. Run desktop at 120 or run aggressive fan table to keep temps down.
