I recently returned my 980 SC as I saw the Classified in stock.  I'm getting lower scores in 3d mark with my 980 classified.

****I'm a derp and didn't realize windows update was still working in the background while benchmarking(New build and install).  All is well now and the card overclocks MUCH better than my 980sc on air :)  ***

The classified has a beefed up VRM & supports EVBot. If you returned two 980 SC's for a single 980 classified then of course you're going to see a lower score because you are now only running one card instead of two.

Not sure if I'm reading your post right, but did you return 2 SCs for 1 Classy?

I should have typed that better.  I had two 980's (SC) but I returned one due to their not being enough games out of my collection that used SLI.  I still have that 980 SC in the box I am returning it in.  I'm trying to figure out whether or not to keep the classified.

I know nothing about Evbot and I am currently looking online for more info.  Could you point me in the right direction? I'd like to learn more about overclocking this card on air.  Thanks a bunch!  Merry Christmas/Happy holidays!

    **Found it, thanks.

Out of curiosity, what games are you playing that doesn't support SLI?

If you're seeing worse scores after installing a new card, it may have nothing to do with what's installed, and may just simply be a driver issue.  Did you install new drivers after putting in the Classified?  Did you test both cards using the same driver?  A new driver just came out yesterday, or so, and I know at least one person who got lower 3DMark scores after testing the new driver.

Hello NordicJedi.  It's a completely new build.  I had the upgrade bug and upgraded from a p67 ftw and I7 2600k to what is currently listed in my sig.  Everything is good to go now in regard to my scores as it seems windows update was doing its thing in the background.  I also have the clock at 1512mhz atm with no increase to power and my temps havent gone above 70 yet in Heaven.  I should actually delete the thread I suppose as my issue is resolved :)

Games I play not supporting SLI are WoW and the newest CoD.  SLI worked great for Dragon Age Inquisition and BF4 however.

Thanks for the input everyone.  These forums are a huge reason why I buy EVGA every time.

Thanks for the update.  Generally, we'd prefer you to not delete your thread (or ask a moderator to do it for you), as another member might run into the same problem and be helped by the same solution.  Moreover, everything may be working fine now, but if you start running into the same issue in a few days, it's usually better to not start from scratch.
