hello, sorry for my very bad english , i like a silent pc, but my evga hybrid pump was very noisy, buzzy. i made some reasearch and the pump only have 2 wire and too control the pump via motherboard i need rpm check, because if you plug the pump directly to the MB fan header the pump will run at max, i renove the plastic cover of the pump and see only 2 wires but a solder point for the rpm, just solder a wire on it and i can control the pump via mb. and i make the pump running always at 1500rpm and now is dead silent, the fan are directly connect to 12v psu, they run always at max 1200rpm and very silent, my temp have decrease about 10 dg, and run at 1500 mhz at 40/41 dg playing battlefield 4 at max

    Nice.

This might motivate me to try the Hybrid. Was it easy to disassemble to get access to the circuit board?

So it is + - RMP on the cable?
At 1200rpm what do you think the Flow Rate is?
    Have you voided your warranty?
Maybe EVGA on the next version can add a plug and cable to allow users to do the same.

Mine run at 1500rpm on asus suite. No complain. Full 48hours now testing. Temps are never pass 41dg, very very silent almost inaudible, before the mod the noize was very loud and disturbing in idle. Oc now 1500mhz. About the warranty i don't know because to remove the plastic protection of the pump, no need to unscrew, just push. The wire was solder on the pump board and dont damage anything. But i prefer to loose warranty and have the pump ok. Because it was rma once and same problem after that.

    Hi,

Please understand that it is not recommended to do this modification as it may damage pump by changing the voltage.  I can also confirm that soldering any wires or mods on any EVGA product will in turn void the warranty.

If anyone should need assistance with there product then we are here to help.

I've put in a ticket because the pump noise has been driving me batty. At least fan noise varies - but not for this radiator fan, and not for this pump. Such a disappointment as I bought it because it was widely reviewed as actually being silent. I've plugged my fan into the motherboard to quieten things down - but the pump seems to just run at full. And buzz.

I don't want to resort to this to fix my pump noise... but what other solutions are there? I'm surprised the pump and fan don't act off a load/temperature sensor.

My first 980ti Hybrid had a very annoying loud buzzy noise to the pump.  I RMA'd it and the next one is silent, so the pump was defective.  I've notice quite a few people seem to think it's normal if it's making a very noticeable buzzy noise, but it's not.

I'm curious deejaykristoff what were temps before the mod while gaming?  I keep seeing people post numbers in the 40's (c) but mine (I have two 980ti Hybrids in SLI) are always just over 50c while playing games.

I wrote in to customer support several times now. There is no assistance available with this product for me and they did not advise RMA to help with the pump noise. Now I'm stuck tryign to get the the retailer to let me return it so I can get a quieter model from another company.
