This is EXTREMELY Interesting, Since Now Vince has reversed his statement I read on Kingpincooling.com where he said that LOWER ASIC% would OC more than HIGHER ASIC% binned Cards, Which is not correct according to the ASIC Charts I previously went by.
Apparently I assumed wrong and it Looks like you'll have to get the New Kingpins at least around sub-zero temps to make them operate like they should.

I can Possibly see it would be better off just buying some 980 Ti Classifieds, Or Probably I'll Just buy One 980 Ti Classified Kingpin and put it under SS Phase Change like I did with my Titan X.

And Then of course there's that New Tek-9 FAT 6.0 I just received.......

Interesting indeed........What i would like to know is did they KNOW THIS when they made the 980 KPE???? Could have saved us A LOT OF TIME AND FRUSTRATION!!!!!

Obviously they didn't know this, or they wouldn't have wasted the time making so many different BIOS with users request and then later explain that they figured out the problem...

Re: 980 Ti Kingpin 2015/07/05 11:44:59 (permalink)
You want to say that EVGA K|NGP|N Cards are EXTREMELY BAD FOR GAMING, WATERCOOLING AND AIR, AND THEY ARE ONLY FOR LN2, AND THAT BEST AND ASTEST GRAPHIC CARDS FOR AIR AND GAMING ARE GALAXY HOF EXTREME, BECAUSE THEY CAN BE USE NORMALY AS ANY OTHER CARD.
I can't explain how much this is bad for EVGA and for people who want to play games example on fastest cards.
Example maybe I sell graphic card and decide instead 3% faster TITAN X SC to buy K|NGP|N Edition and waterblock... example...I have aversion of crippled cards but lets say I decide to save 300e, and than recommendation is to buy other card from other brand with similar clock because K|NGP|N Cards can't work on air, water...
Can someone explain what stop them to work on Air on fabric speed.
What, 1.4V default? If we talk about 1.3-1.4V default that cards are not binned.
What stop that hardware to work on fabric speed like Zotac AMP Extreme work example on 1250MHz Base clock... that's my question.
Are you aware what mean for gamer 250MHz overclock for gaming...That would be probably most wanted cards, but we still don't know maybe Galaxy launch model with 1300MHz base clock with waterblock. 300MHz READY FOR GAMING, WARRANTY 3 YEARS. AND SOMEONE NEED TO EXPLAIN WHY IS BEST EVGA MODEL INFERIOR TO THEM FOR GAMING, I WANT TO HEAR EXPLANATION, BECAUSE THIS IS INTERESTING DEBATE, THAT SOMEONE FIRST TIME MAKE GRAPHIC CARD ONLY FOR LN2 AND GAMERS NEED TO CHOOSE OTHER BRAND THAN.

First I must tell one thing... I ask for default BIOS on graphic cards...because if someone only think to install XOC BIOS without dice and LN2 that's not normal person.
But someone will make mistake and think that cards are not good for gaming on with official BIOS...
and if someone think that to explain what stop them to work as Galaxy HOF...
If Galaxy really inject 300MHz, that's exactly 30% faster card than reference GTX980Ti with 1000MHz Clock.

I feel that EVGA models will be crushed this year, because manufacturer hear that many people want only to play games on as much possible high clock and they want to give them because they are priority and 90% people buy card to OC 50-100-150MHz and than to play on fabric speed.
We never had so close models as GIGABYTE, MSI to Classified and Matrix is not launched, Zotac is 60 faster, Galaxy is unknown but maybe and 110MHz faster, brands finally figure out that many people will not gamble any more with their money and decide to OC more. GIGABYTER Is 40MHz slower than Classified, MSI is only 20MHz slower, but that will not stop them to launch for 2-3 months Lightening and GHz Edition and you talk about LN2 how much you want.
EVGA should make graphic cards normal for games on default speed and for OC, but if someone want to use LN2 than he can use LN2... as any other cards.

I have been hearing rumors that the Classy and KPN may not go over 1.3V so why the hell get them at that point.

Probably they will find way to increase more with Classified Voltage Tool.
Same was with GTX780/GTX780Ti... And to be honest 1.3V in Precision X is not bad at all.
I would like to all cards instead 1.2 could go up to 1.3V. For air and water how much you pull from 1.3V that's it.
For more need serious voltage and temps below zero.
What NVIDIA do with their cards and voltage limitation is only one more reason to people strictly stay with fabric overclocked models for gaming.

What you mean you can't scale voltage with official BIOS???
You mean nothing. Not even little as before. You mean voltage slider is completely lock on Maxwell cards or they can increase 75mV.

For TITAN X I see now some table stock voltage 1.162, max voltage 1.215.
That's what I expected. I would like so much one TITAN X SC capable to work on 60MHz more stable.
That's my card from dream. Full GM200 200MHz overclocked.

980Ti K|NGP|N will have some kind of replacement for EVBot, only software recommended only for unofficial xtreme overclocking BIOS.
Probably same kind of tool will work and with 980Ti Classified, and probably few version of software.

It was much better before when higher voltage didn't influence on clock.
How now people to stabilize card if with 50-75mV clock go up 15-20MHz... If someone need for example 1200MHz to incrase 75mV if clock stay 1200MHz there are small chance but how if with more voltage card boost on 1220MHz before crash and even on 1200MHz is not stable.

Personally I'm definitely getting this KPE and throwing it into sub-zero this time to see the actually capability of it when operated "As Designed".

This is for now most elegant version, really look like Classy card.
I hope clock is good. I could imagine how card look when you remove cooler.
What will be with cooler, plastic as 780Ti or some other material as 980?

I would feel bad to destroy this shine preparing for LN2.

Someone should build EVGA museum with all their premium and Classified hardware ever made.
I swear that would be only thing I like to collect, nothing else, all hardware in working conditions
Only premium models FTW and Classified and some reference and best motherboards.

Wait card have more connectors, fans are connected near EVBot connector, Voltage read points are on classic place, but card have two more connectors on same place as normal cards?  Maybe some LEDs or similar things...
IT'S NOT TRUE THAT CARD IS ONLY FOR LN2, THEY MADE ONE BIOS FOR NORMAL USE, IN MIDDLE IS ONE EVEN FOR NORMAL OVERCLOCKING AND THIRD BIOS IS FOR LN2 AND DICE.

I think now something, we know... but some people in Asia, or I don't know are not aware at all of experience when you keep this hardware in hand and easy when you open box, cut sticker, remove foil, you can't explain that with words, pictures only can one little percent to show.

This is the best looking card I've seen in a while (reminds me of the golden days of Leadtek and it's 6800 line-up)! Vince or how ever designed the looks deserves a prize or something.

Is really hard to say for some EVGA model this is nicest, 90% of them are beautiful and really no ugly EVGA card, I didn't saw that.
But this K|NGP|N model is best of all 3 for me, GTX580 Classified, GTX780 Classified and this are nicest Classified cards definitely.
But normal Classified look very cool too only you see that this card is more expensive to build and specific.

It's very bad if someone buy this model and sell him later, really this should stay at home of owners, if someone buy more at least to keep one for backup card. I repeat I would never collect anything except EVGA hardware on shelves with glass. About 15 motherboards and about 20-25 graphic cards deserve to be in EVGA Museum.
