So I installed my 980 ti hybrid kit,  everything except the radiator fan works.     Already set up an RMA for the unit,  but wanted to see if anyone else had this issue.   The pump runs,  reference fan runs,  the radiator fan does not (spins once at startup and stops).   I just hooked the radiator fan directly into the psu until my replacement comes.

Good thing is it doesn't seem to be a widespread issue since I can't find anything on it,  hopefully my replacement won't have the same issue.

So, it works when you plug it into the motherboard but not into the receiver plug that comes off the PCB connector?  In other words, the fan works and you think it is a problem with that wire that leads out.

What use is knowledge if there is no understanding?~Stobaeus

Only thing I can think of is there isn't power coming from the pump to the fan.   Guess I could check it with a volt meter.

    Hi,

In this case it would be recommended to RMA the unit as the fan should be spinning at all times while the unit is on.

Yep already did,  was just checking to see if maybe it was caused by something I was unaware of.

What does your sc's boost to?  I would thing the only difference is the stock/boost speed between the two.

1315ish.   But I've used Precision to get around 1450 without crashing.   What worries me is the fan profile may be different on the hybrid since the reference fan is cooling the VRMs.

Wow, that's a good default boost.  Mine in sli are 1265 boost by default.

If you set up a fan profile it shouldn't matter about the fan speed...precision x will handle that the same either way.

EDIT:  Looks like one of my sli cards boosts to 1265 and the other is over 1300 but of course in sli they only boost to the lower one.  No biggey though, I just oc them both +150 and use that every day.

Does the hybrid kit work on the 980ti classified?

That's interesting question, maybe only pump, but VRM will stay without cooling and mask is smaller than 980Ti Classified PCB.
    I just saw this picture
    EVGA GTX980Ti Classified

It's beautiful card, every normal person with taste will confirm that...
I love ACX coolers and when everything is flat and nice ... motherboard is probably EVGA X99 Micro.

No,  you need the reference cooler.   The hybrid kit uses the fan from it.

If you're going for a "couple" of classifieds,  I would imagine you'd want to throw them under water blocks anyway.  Right?

Received my replacement.  Works great,  so having a faulty power line from the pump to the fan is a possibility.   RMA it if you do.

I just got my 980 Ti Hybrid Kit and had the same issue. The problem is I didnt notice this at first. I was doing a benchmark to check the cooling performance and notice my temps shooting up to 70c. I figured something must be wrong since those are the temps I was getting with the stock cooler. I opened up my case and felt that the card was burning up and the radiator was hot, then I checked the fan and sure enough it wasn't spinning...

I switched the fan cable to the fan hub on my H440 and the fan starting working so its definitely an issue with the unit. After getting the fans to work, the temps dropped to what I expected (45c), so the rest of the unit works fine. I'm debating whether I should RMA the unit since it was such a pain to install; took me about 1-2hrs since I like to take my time. Also, I hope no permanent damage was done to the card. It was a brand new card as well, ordered the same day as the kit.

After getting the unit to work I've been doing some benchmarking and have been getting some driver crashes... I think I will have to RMA the card if this issue continues.

EVGA needs to check their production process and fix this issue.
