Just installed my 2 x GTX-980 SC cards (not ACX). Both cards look great, and installed without any issue. Noise is low even on full load, no coil whine, no fans sounding like a jet turbine, temps peaked at 73C under full load for an extended duration. I'm very happy with them so far. Ran a single run of 3DMark11 and 3DMarkFireStrike. Cards are in SLI running at stock, CPU is i7-3930k at a mild 4.0GHz o/clock, and 16GB of 1866MHz memory. Results: 3DMark11 : P23,300 FireStrike : 17,007 18,328 (amended, see this post). That's a big jump over my 2 x GTX-680 FTW+ 4GB cards; they scored P17,413 and 11,484 at stock with same CPU clock and ram.

FireStrike should be 19k? hmmm... The voltages and clocks are running the same on both cards under load, according to PrecisionX 4.2.1 using the most recent 344.16 WHQL driver - both pegged at 1379MHz clock and both at 1.212V. Regarding shadowplay, I didn't install GFExperience, but I'm reading I should turn off windows aero? Still way better than my 2 x GTX-680 FTW+ cards lol. Also note I'm only running a 4.0 GHz o/clock on the CPU at present.

I have almost exactly the same rig as the original poster does, (except for the MB), even to the 4 ghz overclock on the CPU. The only difference is that I have slightly quicker memory, 16 gig of 2133 mhz. In 3DMark11 I get P23,435 http://www.3dmark.com/3dm11/8827540and in Fire Strike I get 19,472 http://www.3dmark.com/fs/2961445 The 3DMark11 score seems to be just about where it should be. The Fire Strike score definitely is a bit low.

Thanks for that. I'll have a play around and see what I can figure out. I only ran it once, so maybe something was running in the background at the time. I'll update after a few runs in the next day or two. ..and yeah we do have similar setups. I even have a similar keyboard - Razer BlackWidow Ultimate 2014 Stealth Edition ..you got me truly beat on the sounds though!

Hmmm.. nope. Just ran Fire Strike again. 17,134. I wonder what is causing that.. yet my 3DMark11 score is similar to yours. It's the graphics part of the Fire Strike score that is falling behind on my rig, not physics. I do not have the issue of one card undervolting either.. weird. I turned off the Windows aero theme, made sure v-synch was off for 3DMark. Surely ram clock wouldn't make that much of a difference (1866MHz vs 2133MHz)... Hmm.. I didn't install NVidia 3D drivers, I just did required drivers and physx. Maybe that's it. I'll try installing now and run Fire Strike again. ...30 minutes later.. Nope, still in low 17k region. I'm about due for a fresh Windows install anyway..overdue actually. Will try that over next day or three ..and the joy of the never-ending Windows updates..

I don't have the 3D drivers installed either. Don't have a 3D monitor, so no need for the drivers.

I'm pulling 17k-ish as well. http://www.3dmark.com/fs/2976839 - stock SC Are you sure I sli 980s with a SC model should be closer to 19k? It seems like i have a low physics score. Not really sure why. I'm running 4.8ghz. Maybe no HT on 3570k?

3570k's don't hyperthread. If the score is low because of physics it's only because you don't have an i7, which honestly shouldn't make a difference in game, I doubt you'd lose more than 1 or 2 frames average even in a game like BF4. I had a 2500K back up system that ran it neck and neck with my 4770k, no overclock at all.

Set power to per maximum performance. If I forget to set to maximum performance my score is off. You can set it for the 3DMark.exe in the program settings and leave the global setting to Adaptive. I assumed the 3570K had Hyperthreading but Fennicillin is correct it does not.

Not sure why yours is that much lower than Comrades pretty close to the same set other than MB. Don't think it makes that much of a difference but are you running PCI-E 3.0? Only reason I ask is because Comrade may. Also when you changed to prefer maximum performance did you do it on the 3DMark.exe or in the Global settings. If you did not try it Global I would give that a try. Also make sure your cards are not getting too hot. They could be getting hot and throttling down.

It's strange... particularly when our 3DMark11 scores are about the same. Checked in BIOS screen and yeah, PCI-E had changed to 2.0 (I guess it changed when I replaced the cards?) so I changed it to 3.0 again. I also put max performance at global settings as well as already having program level. Fire Strike scored low 17k again. Again ran a GPU stress test, cards peak at 73C according to PrecisionX, and no throttling. Also had aero turned off during Fire Strike run. *shrug* I am using NVidia drivers 344.16, I've never tried 344.11 ..I'm going to uninstall 344.16 and try 344.11 .. ya never know.

Nereus Just installed my 2 x GTX-980 SC cards (not ACX). Results: 3DMark11 : P23,300 FireStrike : 17,007 That's a big jump over my 2 x GTX-680 FTW+ 4GB cards; they scored P17,413 and 11,484 at stock with same CPU clock and ram.

Uninstall windows update KB2670838 if you have it installed, reboot pc, should score higher now.
Wow.. 344.11 was much worse lol. Going back up to 344.16 and I'll check for that windoze update. Yes I have KB2670838 installed. Looked in google and one of the first links says; "KB 2670838 - The EVIL UPDATE " lmao.. ok looking into it.

Slash24 Not sure why yours is that much lower than Comrades pretty close to the same set other than MB.
Well it's getting weirder.. FireStrike is only seeing 1 card now.. but PrecisionX sees both. Oh duhhhh.. forgot to turn on SLI when I installed 344.16 again. ..later.. ok, still 17k (that's after uninstalling the evil MS update lol).
