Be sure and let us know how that Beast is workin for ya when you get it installed.
I also need to do a fresh OS install -- things are not exactly right. I usually end up doing one about every 6 months or so.

The the standard 980 backplate (P/N: 100-BP-2981-B9) work with the 980 SC acx 2.0 Gpu's? Edit: Sorry dumb question forget i asked.... Is Evga store the only place you can get these Backplates

Classified plate bolted right on, perfect fit. I have removed plastic from foam tape. Had one extra screw left, LOL, that confused me for a while, recounted them like 3 times, must be spare. :)

Does anyone know If the standard 980 backplate here will work with the EK-FC980 GTX block? Since the evga/ek block versions are both made by the same company I'm assuming they will  Also if someone could gestimate the thickness of the thermal pads, it'd be much appreciated. Looking to send back the ek backplate I have (evga backplate... eye candy + better venting from the looks of it) and possibly slap on some fujipolly if possible. Thanks.

I have the EK / EVGA hydro copper block and the directions have information on installing with a EVGA branded back plate plus they give you longer screws with the block. Im sure the standard EK block will work no issues with the back plate.

Got a backplate for a 980 today. These are plastic now? It is really thin brittle plastic. The backplate for my 760 was thick and metal. Really disappointed. Seems like a waste of money. Temps are the same. After a year, this will probably crack on it's own after being dried out from heat.
