Hi Guys,

So i currently have a 580 which is now painful to game on so I want a 1070, however the stock situation seems grim so I was thinking of picking up a 970 then stepping up later to a 1070

Who do I have to buy this from if I live in the netherlands. I would like to buy it from Amazon.de if possible.

Also if I have to buy the 1070 from evga how do I apply my BTW number so that I can buy it without tax?

I did that myself. I picked up a 970 Hybrid and then entered stepup queue for the 1080 on launch day.

Given how long the queue is on both cards, you may want to consider getting the 970 and then entering the 1080 queue. While your waiting, just put away $50-$75/week and you will have your new 1080 paid for by the time your queue number gets called.

If you own a business then you already know how to buy without BTW. In the Netherlands there are several places that sell EVGA equipment such as this one:

For EVGA EU I don't know if they have such a procedure so it would be best to call them but you can also consult your business accountant in the Netherlands to see how to claim back the VAT for your business.

    hi rjohnson11

so my question about tax is not so much for the 970 since i can buy that from amazon etc who have my btw number already, but the 1070 since from my understanding i need to buy that from evga - normally i give my btw number and i don't pay the tax.

The rules for Step Up in the EU are a little different. You will want to look them over carefully.

You will also want to make sure you purchase from an authorized retailer. Make sure you purchase from Amazon LLC and not the marketplace to avoid ineligibility.
