So a few days ago I submitted a "compatibility inquiry form" on the EK website asking if they were planning on a full-cover waterblock for the new 970 SSC (3975). They only had the older model (2975) listed at that time.

I just got a reply back this morning saying that the new version was already listed in the cooling configurator, and sure enough it is now listed as "04G-P4-2975/04G-P4-3975".

I was under the impression that the layout of the cards were different. Wouldn't that mean different waterblocks? It still says that fullcover waterblocks are coming soon.

Anyway, Just thought I'd share this with everyone. I hope EK has reviewed both cards and is certain that one waterblock will fit both.

Thanks, Mike

    Just to let you know...

Another user on the forum sent me a PM last week about that and I sent an e-mail to the guys directly at EK and they confirmed me that the upcoming block will also cover the 3975.

Hi all. @EK_Luc could you please tell me if the FTW and the SSC editions of the 970, and the 980 classified currently have blocks available?

I'm still split amongst these three cards, but block availability will be a major point of consideration.

    Thanks in advance.

If you can get your hands on this version of the SSC (04G-P4-2975) or this version of the FTW (04G-P4-2978) then the EK-FC970 GTX ACX will fit.

The newer version of the SSC (04G-P4-3975) and the FTW+ (04G-P4-3978) don't have any compatible blocks and we don't have any future plans to make one as of now.

The 980 Classy (04G-P4-2988 and 04G-P4-3988) will fit the EK-FC980 GTX Classy block.

So if I assume that you still haven't bought the GPU, then the 980 Classy might be your best bet.

Hey thanks for the prompt reply @EK_Luc. I guess my decision has been made then...air cooling is no longer an option, as ive been spoiled by the lack of noise.

Guess ill just keep saving up. Thanks again.

Just put a fan curve on the 970 SSC, and it's all good. They don't even get that hot...

Even the reviews of 3 970's sandwhiched together, don't even get that hot, unless you have them smashed into a little case.
