I bought a EVGA Vanilla gtx, upgrading from a EVGA gtx 580. When I first got it drivers kept crashing causing my screen to go black and monitor to go into power safe mode. I talked to EVGA customer service and decided to RMA the card with Tiger Direct.

Well I just got the new card and am having the same issues. I read on forums it could be the volts so I have maxed them out with EVGA percision and now the card only crashes about ever 3 hours of gameplay. Before it was crashing every 5 minutes just on the desktop.

Anyone have any idea whats causing this? I want to fix the card completely. It's very frustrated.

Also, when I startup my computer I have to do it multiple times because half the time my monitor doesn't detect anything.

Please help

It could be your PSU, is it the 2008 model? if so can you try the card in a different PC to check?

You may want to try putting the volts back to default then try downclocking the card -105 from default clocks on both the core and memory to see if that gets you more than 3 hours.

That signature is old. It's a thermaltake 600 watt psu now since I went with a mini itx build and needed a small psu.  But I don't think it's the psu since I'm able to run a gtx 580, which takes more power, without any issues.
