Thanks for all the input. I'm very much appreciative that all this help being offered.

I don't have another cpu or board I could swap for testing. I really wish I did. The new memory and my psu should be fine, or wouldn't I have more issues? Only time I have issues are when I go past 1400 fsb/cpu and even then it's not typically a bluescreen or hardlock, they have happened though. It'll be games crashing or my network port failing requiring a restart to get ethernet connection working again.(I think that's what happens) I cannot fullscreen videos at higher mhz either.

If it was the cpu, I'd think I'd have more problems, if the cpu is going, the cpu is going regardless of settings right? That's why I figured it was going to probably be the board. I tested my Corsair before and there was no issues, though I did find it odd I had to run them at 1.85 to clear memtest this time. I haven't tested the Patriot as of yet, but since my pc is acting a bit more responsive, particularly in Starcraft 2 loading times/menu changes that I've noticed, I'd have to think the Patriot sticks are fine as well.

I don't want to make any assumptions if there are routes still to be pursed, so I'm all ears to more suggestions before pursing a RMA.

At this point, knowing me, I would RMA the board (definitely) and the CPU (probably).

Alright, I'll do that then. Seems I have to contact EVGA to troubleshoot first, need a support ticket number I guess, so I gotta call them tomarrow.

Once all is said and done, I'll report back.

I have no idea, I'll pursue that as well. Would I contact Intel about that, I really have no idea, was going to contact Newegg first. If not, then it might be a little while before I can, money is something I don't have an abundance of.

I understand....I was just asking.  I really lean toward the board being the culprit more so than the CPU.  You will know when you get a different board.

I looked your memory up on New Egg the stock settings are posted as 1.9V.

The settings I posted are used with P08 or 09 Bios revision.  I've haven't tried P10, no reason to my current one is stable.  I know with each bios revision I had to make adjustments to regain stability, this may be the case with P10.

I'm not sure if you want to try rolling back to an older revision.  I know the earlier bios revisions were extremely unstable (5+6) with various types of memory, but they got better with each new release.

The only notes posted with the P10 revision is that it increases stability across a variety of CPUs.

I have the day off tomorrow and will be tearing down and rebuilding my 790i system and will go through and verify all my current settings and of course I'll post them.

Out of curiouslty before I left for work today I ran the most current versions of IBT and LinX to verify the setups stability, they both passed (I was surprised none of my temps got above 80C, I thought they were higher than that when I put that system together).

@ jonny80s - Is there a reason that you are not running linked and synced since both your memory and FSB are running at 1666Mhz?

There doesn't appear to be a reason.  I guess I simply didn't bother to once I finalized the settings.

Your call....but linking and syncing them reduces possible frequency variations between the two from taking place.

I went ahead and linked them.  Ran through IBT and LinX, still stable.

Not sure why I didn't have them linked before.

Now it's time to tear this baby down and put it into its new home.

I have no clue how to fix your freezing issue but from reading a lot on these forums I think I found a post on P10 bios for 790 mobo on page 1 from preacha to fix your internet dropping out randomly ( only way to fix it is to reboot or to use troubleshooting option , at least with windows 7 , to get network back )  ...... copy paste to follow

<<<<<<<<  Go to Control Panel -> Device Manager and right-click on the properties of your card in "Network Adapters"

Now Go to the Advanced TAB
Make sure you have these settings (Can someone confirm that these are correct because they seem to be working fine for me):

Sleep on disconnect: enabled
flow control: disabled
interrupt moderation: disabled
ip checksum offload: disabled
jumbo packet: 9014 bytes (this might have no effect for you)
ALL large send offloads: disabled
BOTH low power: enabled
network address: not present
priority & vlan: priority enabled
receive side scaling: disabled
speed/duplex settings: auto
ALL TCP & UDP offloads: disabled
vlan id: 1
ALL wake ons: enabled

also....
DISABLE Apple's Bonjour service and Microsoft's Windows Media Player Network Sharing service.

So far so good for me. Let me know if you have the same success....  >>>>>>>>>>>>

I had the same issue and changing settings to those it has fixed the issue for me and I haven't had internet drop out in over 2 weeks now. I eventually wrote down original settings in case it didn't work and didn't want to mess things more lol !!!

The internet dropping issue happened when I was over 1400mhz, otherwise it's no issue.

Freaking hurray! It seems it was the motherboard that was going, tossed the new one in, set my BIOS appropriately to run at 1600mhz and just passed 20 passses in IBT.

What a good deal, brother!!!

If you are using the same RAM that I am, check out my thread for speeds and timings that you may be able to use. Of course, your CPU voltages will be different but, you still may find some useful info. http://forums.evga.com/tm.aspx?m=598716

EDIT: I missed it in your sig. that you are running the Viper II's....these, correct?? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820220407
If so, I believe they are the same as mine, only with different heatspreaders.

Thankx for the props. Please do me a favor and compare your BIOS's Advanced Memory Settings values with mine listed for 1600MHz in my thread and let me know how close they are. If they are "spot on" then, it would re-enforce my belief that the only difference between our sticks are the heatspreaders. Thank you again.

Actually I set my memory timings to those you had posted for 1600mhz, for the most part BIOS has similiar settings for automatic. Not so far off either from what was suggested before. I just wanted to get it up and running.. and did so flawlessly.
