lol on the balcony? lol You Russians lol Beware of condensation, Alex...it's not a good idea to run it outside.....especially when you tuen it off or bring it in, then the water will appear...be careful!!! Ok...so, the workers stopped. You need to post the error that it came up with and we can try to work tru why it stopped. Once a worker, or CPU stops, it's a fail...don't continue...Stop all workers, go back to your bios, make some adjustments and try again...but we will need the error so try to re-create it? Run a blend test, let it fail and post the error here! Without being certain, it's prob. your RAM that will need the tweaks. If you want to try something before posting back to me....use the timings 8-9-8-25 or 26.... or 9-9-9-27 or 28. Try and set the timings nice and loose for now and see if we can get a passed test or 12!

ok.....You're getting close! If you're passing a few tests on core 1 and core 2 fails, then yeah...we're very close. Leave your RAM, then...it doesnt like more volts or looser timings...some RAM just has to be what it says on the stick and nothing else. Use the normal Timings like you have them. Try the CPU core @ 1.48, see if you get stable....Boost the GTLVref to the cores that are failing, as well. GTLVREF Lane 0 [+0mv] Leave this GTLVREF Lane 1 [+0mv] Change to +50 GTLVREF Lane 2 [+50mv] Leave this GTLVREF Lane 3 [+50mv] Change to +100 Let me know if that works out. Keep upping the volts untill you get all 4 cores to pass tests, just do not go over 1.5vcore. If you find worker 2 stops first, exit prime 95, goto the bios, bump the volts to core 2, then go back to Prime 95 and test. Remember to only change one setting at a time in the bios once you get close like we are now... so that we will know if changing a the voltages is the issue...Sounds like you're making some progress tho!

IMO, there is no way running a CPU with a stock frequency of 3.0Ghz and a FSB of 1333Mhz should require 1.48v to run at 3.6Ghz. IMO, you are overvolting that chip.

His FSB is 1800, read the whole thread. 65nm chip. Not 1333. Not 3.0ghz. :P If you can't get some stability here Alex, Try using an FSB of 1750. Leave all your timings where they are and the voltages, etc . Manually set the FSB to that, you're linked and sync'd so there's something else to try. Hope you got it working by the time I check tomorrow! You're getting close!! :)

I know his FSB is 1800Mhz, and I know it is a 65nm CPU. I know that 65nm chips require a little more voltage. I suggest that you look at the specs on the CPU. I read the entire thread. I say 1.48v is high for 3.6Ghz. The OP can do whatever he wants. 3.0Ghz FSB - 1333Mhz http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115026

Yes, I do have better advice.....the problem is this: Memory: TW3X4G1800C8DF Corsair Dominator DDR3 2x2Gb PC3-14400@1800MHz 8-8-8-24(2T) 1.80V - factory settings Some of the 790i series boards can run the Dominator RAM well, quite a few don't. Freezing in a lot of cases is either GPU or memory related. He would not hardly be the first person that Dominator RAM just didn't play well with his chipset....even after adjusting the GTLVREF lanes. Overvolting the hell out of the board and the components is not going to fix the problem. But....I will stay out of it.....

Peter Northbridge What I was suggesting was some advice, some help...Rather than saying IMO, I think this, etc. Alex still has problems with his OC....Actually giving him advice rather than opinions will solve his issue. Anyone can just as easily go into another thread, tell someone that they're doing it wrong...without actually telling them how to do it right...but that does nothing...takes the thread no where. .. Let's actually help the user instead of just throwing 7549 opinions out there. 1.728vcore almost 5ghz http://hwbot.org/community/submission/1026128_systemviper_cpu_z_core_2_qx6850_3.00ghz_4895.15_mhz 1.488vcore...4ghz, similar FSB http://hwbot.org/community/submission/929947_silverlight_cpu_z_core_2_qx6850_3.00ghz_4049.82_mhz So....What will fix the problem? I'm sure Alex would love to hear about it. Please help, or don't. It's simple! We're here to help users. THANX, I really appreciate your help !!! Peter Northbridge ok.....You're getting close! Ok, Alex...Try putting the FSB to 1750. You should be able to do this with a vcore of 1.48 or less, like I said earlier. Leave all your timings and stuff where they are, just back off the FSB by 50 mhz and see what you get. If you fail tests, back off the FSB more, go down to 1700..then we can back off your voltages as well. Vista Head may be able to help you as well. He says replace the RAM. Your errors in prime95 are more than likely memory related however you've done all the mem tests already so there's a chance you just need to do some more tuning.

It's just that I have seen too many cases where a member tweaks, and tweaks, and tweaks, and get to a point where that may appear to be stable, then a little while later, find out that they are not. Alex, if you find that you cannot get stable after a little while longer, and a few more tweaks, if it were me, I would consider replacing the RAM. The 790i chipset is finicky, especially when it comes to RAM. Like I previously stated, some members can run the Dominator memory well, but some members never successfully run it, no matter what they adjust. Play with it some more, but I feel that in your particular case, it is the RAM....but I could be wrong...which is the problem.

I don't know, Alex. There's a possibility that your RAM just isn't compatible with the board. Your stock voltage is 1.8...you tried 1.9 with no success..Try 1.825, leave the FSB @ 1800...then try 1.85 and so on. It's a memory related issue you're having for sure by the sounds of all of this, so maybe like Vista head stated..your RAM is a bad mix for your board. You can prob sell your RAM, replace it with something that works.....I have 2gb of OCZ3N2000SR I can give to you, but you live in Russia....would cost me a lot to ship it there and I'm not driving from Canada ! lol If you want to pay for the shipping, I'll send it to you for free if you really want. So, I don't know what else to say, Alex..Keep trying if you want. It's really not too big of a cost to sell your existing RAM, try some other stuff that you know should work, then try your overclock..you've done it a few times, you're probably quite fast at it by now lol...... your hardware is also still valuable seeing as it's not cheap kids stuff, you can always sell it because it all works, just not together. Toss of a coin if you ask me!

Well Peter, thank you for your kindness!!! Tomorrow I look on the market for OCZ OCZ3N2000SR2GK PC3 16000, if I find one, I'll let you know. One more thing, I've read somewhere long ago that high speed memory must be placed in black slots, but if I buy this mem, its only 2Gb, so I need 2x2 Gb (1Gb in each slot), will it work ok on 1800 ??? Cause right now as u know, I have 4Gb (2Gb in each black slot) P.S. I found two shops that sells this mem ($120). I'll call tomorrow and see if they have it in-stock

If you are going to run 4GB (2 X 2GB), then I recommend using the black slots. Of course if you are going to run 8GB (4 X 2GB), then all slots will be populated. Just so you know the following applies to the memory slots on the 790i FTW series boards: Blue slots - rated up to 1800Mhz Black slots - rated up to 2000Mhz Although the blue slots are rated up to 1800Mhz, I have seen threads where members had problems running RAM in the blue slots above 1600Mhz, and once they moved the sticks to the black slots, the problems went away...on the other hand, some folks have no issues at all. I always recommend the black slots if you are running 2 sticks of RAM...regardless of the frequency that you are using. The black slots appear to offer better stability....but that is my opinion.

Ofcourse I need 4 Gb, but which combination is better ? In the list above, all sets of required memory are 2Gb. If I need 4Gb, but only 2 sticks, which one will be compatible with my board or should I try my fortune and buy 2 sets of 2Gb (1gb in each slot) and pray?

You want at least two 2GB (each) sticks for a total of 4GB of RAM. Four 1GB sticks places unnecessary additional stress on the memory controller because it has to run all 4 slots, when you can get the same amount of RAM on two sticks.

That approved list of RAM for the 790i series boards has not been updated in a long time because the socket 775 series boards have reached their end of life (EOL). It is so outdated, that you probably can't find more than half of the RAM that is on that list. To be honest with you, I don't recommend OCZ RAM for the 790i series chipset. While some folks can run it well, others have major issues with it. If you do a "search" function here in the 7 Series forum menu, you will find plenty of threads where OCZ RAM ended up being the culprit. If it were me, I would look for DDR3 dual channel RAM with a recommended voltage of 1.7v or higher. Low voltage RAM (1.65v or lower) also give some people fits on the 790i chipset. There are plenty of threads with that issue also. Higher voltage Patriot RAM runs very well on the 790i chipset, but it is also getting hard to find due to it being EOL also.
