so i just brought an EVGA GeForce GTX 780 Ti 03G-P4-2884-KR with an ASUS PB287Q Monitor; now i was under the impression for all the R&D about these products, that i would be able todo 60hertz on this thing. now apparently the monitor is only receiving 30hz from the (source) i have tried everything to get it to read 60hz, even called asus to see if maybe there's false advertisement with this monitor. any how, im here now asking is this card "03G-P4-2884-KR" capable of producing 60Hz over its DP 1.2 @ 4K resolution? all research said it can, but now im completely dissatisfied with spending $1300 on this and just want to send it all back, but before i do. i want to ensure it doesnt support it.

also i tried nvidia create custom resolution for [link=mailto:3840x2160@60hz,]3840x2160@60hz,[/link] and i just get a blue line going across. so my indication still seems ot lay with the video card

So you hooked it up with the dp 1.2 cable and then went into the monitor's settings and changed it to 1.2 as well as changing the monitors refresh to 60hz?? Did it not work?? I have been playing games with this monitor and 2 gtx 670's in sli but just ordered 2 780 ti's so I hope they work

I'm always curious why people post they have found a solution to an issue, but don't bother posting the solution.

I have the Asus PB287 monitor and do you play all games at the highest resolution? I can only play 1 game at the highest resolution but the other games CTD and show artifacts in the game before it does. I can set to 1900x1080 and everything is fine. What is with the artifacts at such high resolution in games? I am also about to sell it because of this.

I have tried out all the batman games and just cause 2 plus a host of other games in 4k and I haven't seen anything wrong with mine on the 670's. I get a little tearing on some older games but enable vsync in the NVidia controls and at helped with that,i am kinda nervous that my ti's will have problems now lol.

Almost positive the OP didn't turn DP1.2 on in the menus since 1.1 is on by default. That is why it wouldn't get 60Hz. I have the same monitor and had to do the same thing.

this is true. fished through the OSD and violla lol! but i really didnt get this monitor for gaming. i mean i have tested minor gaming @4k i.e dota 2, original sin, metro last light etc. nothing very taxing, but i see the stuttering with vsync on, but its very playable. i have an VG278HE @144Hz which is way better for gaming @1080p; but the landscape mode on this thing is (Word deleted for Foul Language) AMAZING!

Thanks for the reply ecalonllc and good to see you got it working. I have my desk set up like yours with my 4k in the middle and my dell ips on the tight side in portrait mode.

Yes 4K is only available at 60Hz+ via DP 1.2 cables
I'm assuming they will eventually hit 4K @144Hz+ with better technology and a further DP revision
