yes, remove both. There only there to protect the plate's finish.

I´m not so convinced...the intirior one does not cover the holes in the back plate and does no"protect" all of the back plate , there are spot that are not covered by it as you can see inthe photo. Do you have one?

I left the interior one. Didn't even notice it until your post and pictures as I was too giddy to install it on two monster cards.

Maybe would protect against any shorts?

I think that is the reason that it is there....if it was to protect the back plate it would be covering all the the back plate correct?

YES LEAVE the interior one on. It is to protect from shorts. I installed mine last night and had to look at a few videos on the tube to make sure. It is not clear in the instructions either. If you look at the location of the important parts on the card, you will notice that the interior sheet covers them.

EDIT: I like how they made it difficult to take the inner one off, it provided enough trouble to question if it should be removed.
EDIT2: I accidentally clicked helpful. I promise I am not self contrived.

I took one of my backplates off and the inside one (the one in question here) seems a lot thicker then the flimsy one you initially remove (and has the "remove this" sticker on it).  The interior one does not have the "remove this" sticker.

The internal one precise cut is to protect from shorts, you only remove the big film cover on the exterior.

Yes I have one....Ive had quite a few over the years. the plate has riser blocks and built in screw spacers to prevent any shorts. I would imagine that the protective plastic sheet would probably not stand some of the high temps g-cards can get too...but your welcome to do anything you want with your equipment.  :)

EDIT: Tried to upload a pict of mine but the evga server wont let me upload the pict no matter how small it gets....button just stays yellow.

The film on the rear of the backplate is there to prevent components from shorting out on the backplate. I would not advise removing that layer.
