Im just wondering if it would be worth doing the step up program from the 780 6gb sc to the 980 4gb classified. There doesn't seem to be much of a difference in the regular 980 and the 780 6gb. I'm generally knowledgeable on this stuff but have questions about this one. Any feed back from the community would be really appreciated.

Why not. You wouldn't be losing much money or spending much extra, would you?

The cost savings would be fantastic for the maxwell architecture, so I say it will be a decently good jump.

i wouldn't be spending any extra. What i'm wondering is it that much better that i need to. I get great performance from the 780. Is the new architecture that much better?

Wait.. You wouldn't be able to step up to the classified. It is a non reference PCB and not allowed through the step up program, so I forgot about that part.

I will say, I love my Classified cards. I won't try to get you to send yours back, but be aware, they have 5 of the brightest leds you will ever see on them. They are not controllable, so it can't be turned down out off. They are meant for extreme overclocking, so those leds are for verifying everything is still getting proper voltage.

If you already knew that, my apologies for repeating everything.

I'll let you know if it is worth it in a week or so. xD I sold my 2 6GB 780's on Amazon a few days ago and in a week I'll be picking up some 980's. I really hope the Classified does release before my impatience to buy gets the better of me. :) Back to using my 670 FTW till I can't stand it any longer.
