hello,
i have an old  750i sli ftw board that i got from a buddy. i've tried about 6 video cards that i know work in other machines, but i cant get video to work on pcie slots. i happened to have a card for the pci slot and it works fine. is there a jumper some place that would turn off the slots? owners manual is not real helpful. bios is updated to newest version on evga site. also is there a jumper for re-setting the cmos or is the little red button all there is?

thanks.

    Welcome to the forums.

There's no Clear CMOS jumper, only the button on that board..You can also clear CMOS by turning off/unplugging the PSU and removing the CMOS battery as described here in the second method..There's no jumpers for the slots.

Virtually everything I'm seeing about that board from numerous reviews (and the EVGA manual) shows PCI slot, not PCIE slot, as being the default Init Display First setting in the BIOS PnP/PCI Configuration menu, which doesn't make a lot of sense to me, but it is what it is..And it may not auto-switch from PCI to PCIE if a PCIE card is detected because Auto doesn't seem to be an option, it's either PCI or PCIE..You may need to snag a el cheapo PCI (not a PCIEx) graphics card to get video to work and make the change to PCIEx as the Init Display First so you can use the top PCIE slot..That board's a little before my time and I never had one (790i FTW was my first EVGA board), so this is my best, and probably correct, guess..Good luck.

thanks, i've got a old pci card in there now and got video, i changed the int display to pciex but still no video from it. all i get is a beep (longer) and two short beeps and then it gets stuck @ 7F on the onboard display (user intervention) with a black screen, so i hit f1 and then it display's FF (onboard bios code)  but still no video. never had a board do this b4 so really confused. i've also tried this with about 4-5 video cards ranging from a 210 up to a 750ti. starting to wonder if my psu i'm using is to small to power the pciex slots. only had a antec 500w laying around.

Sounds like the pci-e slot may be faulty.

1 long and 2 short beeps is a video problem whether it be from a bad card or the slot/motherboard..The PCIe slot is almost certainly bad, and unfortunately you can't use the other PCIe slot for primary display..You could look in the slot for broken/missing/bent pins..That Antec PSU should be fine.
