Hello,

Sorry if this has been posted before.  I have an evga 750i ftw motherboard and was wondering if there is a way to adjust the cpu fan speed from the bios.  Mine is plugged directly into the board on the cpu fan port.  Any suggestions???

I'm not sure. It should work. Would you consider using SpeedFan? Alot of people use it to control fan speeds. You can download it here> http://www.almico.com/sfdownload.php

After you set it to manual did you make sure it was set on 100%? I believe that if your cooler only has a 3-wire plug in on it, that you cannot control it this way....needs to be a 4-wire to do it.

*Just thought of something. If they wanted to give a BR for this thread, they couldn't. They can't split a BR in two. Half for you, and half for me. Not even RJ, Nordic, or Tweaked could perform that kind of magic!

So with a 3 pins fan, the fan is always running at 100% .

    Correct ?

that is correct. you would need a four pin pwm fan for MB control. for 3 pin you could use a external fan control though if you like. and to request a blue ribbon for some one just send a pm to a mod

At the present time, there's 2 ways of doing this. You can either PM a Mod directly, or use the "Report Abuse" button, and use that button to request BR's. At the moment that button can be used universally. I believe they may be working on a solution to rename that button, so it can be used for both.

PS: Thanks for suggesting BR's for Jeffreyham and Myself from our earlier posts. We try to help out where we can. Take care!

@ XrayMan: I was not trying to correct you...sorry if I came across that way.

@OP roche: make sure that you mark the posts as helpful by clicking on that button in the bottom-right corner of each individual one. That will help to draw the Mods attention.

@ quadlatte: thankx for your helpful contribution

3 BR's on 1 thread??? Is that possible??? I've not seen that happen yet.

Oh,Yeah.....I got a good laugh out of the bad Jeff/good Jeff, for sure. It was your "Thanks for correcting me" comment that had me worried. I was just adding my 2 cents to your good recommendation. I may question you about an answer sometime but, I respect you and would never try to correct you.
