hi all, sorry to be a pain,i dont know much about graphics cards but im confused about clock speeds,on this evga website link here

it states that the 660 ti ftw edition has 1046/1124MHz clock speeds, yet the 670 ftw edition, which is £100 more expensive is 1006/1084MHz.Is we dont bring in dual moniters into the mix and arej ust useing a single moniter, why should i buy a 670 ftw edition over the 660 ti?sorry if this sounds stupid im new to clock speeds etc lol :P

I believe the major difference is the memory bus rate. The 660 to is being held back by its lower rate vs the 670. The 670 is a superior card. The FTW 670 comes on a 680 pcb to run cooler and OC better (varies).

Actually the 670 FTW has 680 PCB, is clocked GPU 1006 (680 Vanilla), Memory 6208 (200 MHZ faster than most cards) and can be overclocked like crazy.  Many reviews over the internet talk about the 670FTW being neck and neck all the way with the 680.  You won't get that from the 660.  Here some reading for you:

    Yes. That's what I said :P.

However its luck of the draw, my 670 FTW would crash if I tried clocking it even +1 core offset at max power target. Just silicon lottery as always.

Just means that you never really know how good/bad the chip you get will be for overclocking... the luck of the draw. I think FTW cards generally get the luckier chips (maybe), chosen for their higher clock running abilities to start with. OC'ing the GPU is very independent from OC'ing the CPU and system memory, you can do one without doing the other.

a 670 ftw will perform MAYBE 2-5% less than a vanilla (regular) 680. So no, I would not suggest spending the extra money on a 680 unless you get a 680 FTW.

EVGA is popular because their customer service is excellent. Best I've ever dealt with in my life. Not to mention their warranty is transferrable..

EVGA supports Guest RMA on cards bought after July 2011, so if you aren't the original owner of the card you can still RMA it. Thats what he means by transferable

Personally, I pay more attention to the specs of the graphics card also. I'm no expert but the clock speed isn't everything. Its kinda like judging a book by its cover.
