When I opened the evga px to double check my settings (which are usually at +/-0) the clocks were maxed out and then my drivers crashed and recovered. I closed the program and it happened again when I repeated the above steps. This can't be healthy?

First thing to do would be to uninstall PX, make sure to not save profiles, and then reinstall. If it still happens try it again but reinstall the drivers before reinstalling PX.

When you say the clocks were maxed out, did you mean they were running in boost settings, or that the offset was suddenly increased to the max?

Either way, probably a good idea to uninstall precision as Spenser outlined above?
