Hi. looking for a little assistance not really sure, but i'm just spit balling ideas. i have a cool master Glite case ( Mid- Size tower), with a ASrock 970 Extreme3 2.0  with 1 Evga 660 SC running on stanard no over clocking. i have a octa-core AMD 8320 with Cool Master hydro water cooling set up for it. i got 12 GB of memory. i have 2 HHD. 3 case fans. 64-bit OS wins 8

My issue is when I run games Like Final Fantasy: Realm Reborn. it heats up after an hour or two. and my computer force restarts. I did RMA for both GPU and Mother board. both came back clean. I'm starting to think its my Case is too small and its reaching a too high of a temperature inside the case, but my CPU reachs 40 Degrees Celsius, but my GPU reachs like 50-60. Not exactly sure. I ran Timber Bench marking and as well as the Final Fantasy Bench Mark.  Timber came up with such results. I'm here scratching my head wondering what the cause is. I figured out when my fan is at max it doesn't make a noise normally, but when it does heat up it makes a weird whining noises and i can't exactly find where it generates from. If anyone knows anyway to help me. that would be fantastic I'm tired of not being able to play the games i love with such a fantastic graphics card. I love EVGA I wished they made a Motherboard for AMD i would just buy that instead of this AsRock.

50-60c is a concern? Funny! Mine has always ran between 80-83c when playing intense games and its worked just fine. Have had it over a year now. So 50-60c are exceptional temps and WAY below the average.

I'm not concerned about the temp. i just said the temp could be causing the forced restart. I understand that is well below any harsh condition for the GPU.

Idk if that would do anything. EVGA said there was no problem, but it's not like they gave me a list of things that were perfect and a list of things that  wore down.

I wouldn't expect the system to be shutting down with the card at 60C if heat was the issue, it should be able to go much higher. You could try to test with a different PSU in that system. Or maybe check the voltages on the PSU.

If you still have that 560, and it is working, you can try swapping it back in. If all other components are the same, and the crashing stops, then you'll know the issue is specific to the 660, and you can give tech support a call to get an RMA ticket and replace the card as long as it's covered under warranty.

I sadly gave my 560 to my brother who lives far away, but like i said EVGA said it wasn't the graphic card. and ASrock told me nothing.

I have the same GTX 660 SC with the stock cooler and mines runs normally up to 70 degrees C. Also mines did have crashing issues because of over clocking, I changed the thermal paste inside and it seems to run a lot cooler now. Also don't forget to clean the inside of the cooler, and make sure your Cooler Master Elite Case has good air flow. You could always get a custom cooler for it. Also do not forget to install EVGA Precision or MSI Afterburner or some kind of over clocking software, and make sure it is using the auto fan control!! My card over heated because I did not have EVGA Precision opened while playing Battlefield 3.

Do i Have to have the program running to make sure the fan's work properly? or does it automatically? and I don't over lock it and i really don't want to. i'm not going for extremes here I just wanna play my bloody games with out these dumb random crashs.

I don't have a lot of faith in that PSU

AMD Ryzen 9 7950X,  Corsair Mp700 Pro M.2, 64GB Corsair Dominator Titanium DDR5  X670E Steel Legend, MSI RTX 4090 Associate Code: H5U80QBH6BH0AXF. I am NOT an employee of EVGA

That PSU has multiple +12v rails.  One rated at 15A and the rest at only 13A.  IMO, I think that is your issue here.

Okay, BDary. what would recommend to replace it with little more W or equal to it, Cause i don't exactly want a 1200W PSU.

Your min "system" specs for your 660 SC is 450W with 24A on the +12v rail.  >>  http://www.evga.com/products/Specs/GPU.aspx?pn=d349be71-c0d9-4360-bdfa-8e17897522dd

So looking at picking out a PSU based off your current system config, I would look at something from either Corsair, Seasonic, EVGA, to name a few of the better one's.  I prefer a unit with a single 12v rail personally.  I would look at something with no less than 550W, with nothing less than 24A on the +12v rail.

Once you narrow your search, you may want to then check out a review on it here >>  http://www.jonnyguru.com/

Keep in mind that from what you have described in your thread here, it's my opinion that your issue is your PSU.  Best case scenario would be if you could borrow a PSU meeting the specs you need to test in your rig first to verify it as the issue.

You never want to cheap out on the PSU.  Every component in your system depends on it for adequate power.

Let us know how you make out...

You just have to set it to auto fan control and leave it opened while playing games. Its a little box near the fan speed.
