The highest I've been able to get is 4.5Ghz, any higher and the system won't boot into windows. We really need an update for the BIOS

Well it necessarily might not be the mobo and could be your cpu or even more your bios settings.  I was able to hit 4.8 and boot into windows and run prime95 for a little over hour before I decided to stop because I was hitting 82 degrees on my cpu temp and 1.42 vcore and backed it down to 4.5.

I see you are running WC'ing.  You might want to check and make sure it is secure.  I know this is a lot of variables but I am just going by myself being able to hit 4.8 and get into windows and run prime95 without it crashing.

are you still running with eist C1E C3/6 and vdroop enabled at all? the highest i can get with these on is 4.6. turn them all to off and try again.

I did, if I clock to 4.6 I get a BSOD on Windows load screen (0x0000009c) any higher than 4.6 and Windows won't load, the computer just sits there with the flashing under score sign (_).

I know and I appreciate that but there is no point in you wasting your time on what is most likely a BIOS issue that can only be fixed via an update

A_E: Tonight I notched up my multiplier from the normal 44 to 46, booted to Windows without issue. Then I went for 47, again, without issue. As soon as I went for 48, I got BSOD. My settings are 'Internal PLL Voltage Override' = Enable, EIST/C3/C6 = Disable. You're getting BSOD on a 46 multiplier? Interesting. You should be able to run it all the way up to 47  before BSOD, according to what other folks are running into. Hopefully you can game @ 44... I can't see running BFBC2 any higher than 44.... Won't make me play any better. Good luck. EVGA will resolve the BIOS issue shortly so hang in there!

I have to say that I could not be happier with my board but of course this time around it is an Asus Maximus IV Extreme!  I'm really not a fan od Asus but they sure did nail it with this board, but it is expensive!!!

Yeah, I've got it set for 'without VDroop' and C1E disabled. Forgot those important items in the post to A_E...... Thanks for the reminder. Still can't get past a 47 multiplier... 48 = BSOD.

man i was really wanting one of the FTW's with the ocpanel when i upgrade to a i7 sandy bridge rig.  Good thing I dont plan on doing it til fall.  This board should be good to go by then!  it is a sexy beast.  Maybe something better will be out by evga by then even.

Built all last night, havent even messed with any bios features yet, as I was building 2 x 2600k builds (one for me and one for a friend) I am seeing about 50% performance improvement in l4d2 and in other games.  Here are few quick benchies at 4.2 via EZ tune. Will post (maybe in other thread) more as we bump the OC.

Again these are all at a soft EZ Tune OC of 4.2 with no real GPU OC to speak of, I very much expect these to jump as we approach 5.

here is a pick (sorry for sidesways) http://lockerz.com/s/110933083
I am blown away by the quality and packaging of my UD7, zero regrets,  I hear there is another delay on the K2s so this is feedback for anyone just waiting, and waiting.

I have hit and posted at 5 on my UD7. Still working on getting it stable, learning more about the 8 levels of LLC in the bios and how to deal with PLL as it applies more to D2 stepping. 4.8 benches and games great however

I am running F6 Bios! And I love it! I am very, very pleased with my z68xUD7. I run superpi 1M @ 5! in 6s! 1.4vc!
What lvl of LLC are you using and I'm curious about ur PLL usage and QPI :D

well I have the p67 ud7, not the z68 but I think they are very similar, I am using F3h with only 2 levels of llc, I like that more so than 8-10 levels of llc, also this bios allows me to run lower vcore for the same clocks....

I ran Prime95 for 24 hours and I'm 100% stable at 4.5 ghz at 1.3 v.  Max temp over 24 hours on any core was 78 degrees.  Not sure if I should push it any further.  My 650d case really doesn't have a lot of breathing room.

I couldn't see much of a difference between stock, 4.0 or 4.5 Ghz. Just overclocked to 4.8 Ghz, I doubt there be much difference since of the others. But I'll try it tonight when I'm gaming on BFBC2.
