Hello.
Trying to set up my EVGA X99, i7 5930K, 4x8GB Corsair.
Corsair Watercooler fro CPU, EVGA GTX 980 Ti watercooled, PS at EVGA 1200W.

When the system boots I get 5 rapid beeps and the LED post code stays at "33" and jumps to 34 and 32 sometimes.
2 disks are now seen on the BIOS nor Windows...

Windows 10 is installed and operational, Disk activity light stays on.  Windows works.. I am using the system now..
Anyone seen this before and have any idea how to proceed to 1 beep, and "FF".

Tks

32 = CPU post-memory initialization is started
33 = CPU post-memory initialization. Cache initialization
34 = CPU post-memory initialization. Application Processor(s) (AP) initialization

Try loosing up the cpu cooler a bit & try booting with only one stick of ram.

Hello and welcome to the forums!

It sounds like your POST codes are actually the temperature report if it changes back and forth between 32, 33, and 34. If it were failing to POST you'll either stick on the last code before the system failed POST, or boot loop through the cycle again.

The beeps are likely indicating the number of USB devices detected during POST. You usually get 2-3 with just a mouse and keyboard plugged in, and potentially several more if anything else like USB hubs (like what come built in to some keyboards) are detected. If you can get in to the BIOS, you can disable this under Boot > Speaker Beep.

You say you're getting into Windows okay, are you encountering any other issues? It sounds like one or more of your drives aren't detecting possibly? Please clarify if you're having other problems and we'll be happy to help troubleshoot further with you.

As mentioned above, hearing several beeps during post is normal on X99 as it's detecting connected USB devices.  You either have that or you can disable post beeps completely in the BIOS.

Once booted to Windows, the LED readout shows CPU temp.  (Also mentioned above)

Hello,

how long do you leave the system on when it gets to the 33 code? It never varies from the 33?

At this moment you will want to remove the cpu entirely to make sure you have not damaged the socket pins.

Hey I really appreciate the help in debugging this thanks!

Ok AIDA64 says the temps is at 32 and 33, when the MB LED is showing the same temps..  that seems answered now...

Rebooting to turn off beep..  BRB

You may just simply need to update to the latest BIOS for your board..Check on it, the BIOS version should be shown in the BIOS..I see there's tons of updates that fixes tons of issues for the X99 boards..Since you can get into Windows, you should be able to run the update.bat to do it..That's all I have..Good luck.

When I first setup my X99, I didn't care for all those beeps either.  It was also unfamiliar to me having more than 1 post beep.  But I'm in & out of the BIOS fairly regular and rely on the "beep".  Especially when dialing in OC settings.  After awhile I just got used to it...

Glad to hear you're good to go & up and running...

Back... turned off Beeps in BIOS.. no more beeps..   I am using a USB Mouse and a USB Keyboard too..
As for the Code 33, 32, 34.. The PC has been on almost all day.. so it might be still hot when I start it back up..   it hits 32 while windows is spinning up. (just after the BIOS passes control to the OS)

in document "151-HE-E999_Part1_v2.pdf"   Page 8. the item marked as number 7 "7. PCI-E Disable Dipswitches" ..........  There are lights that are on during boot..  And the one at position number 4 remains lit while OS is running..
Does that mean anything?

And for the small LEDs just to the left of the "7. PCI-E Disable Dipswitches"   show (top to bottom) White, Red, and Yellow...  :) is that normal?

I do think the PCIe lights have some meaning.  Just not sure exactly what they are.  But I have some lit as well.  During boot they're different and once in Windows, I see at least a few are red.  I have a fan shroud blocking my view, so can't see exactly which are lit.

I have the latest BIOS.. V1.20 ,  As for the CPU.. I downloaded the Intel tool called.. "IntelProcessor Diagnostic Tool 64bit" it runs all the tests and passes...
**
@EVGATech_MDecker Do you still think I would need to dismount the CPU and check for damaged pins..
If I start excel or word.. I can see the MB LEDs and the AIDA64 temp sensors sync and fluctuate.

I still have 2 disks that I can't see in the BIOS or Windows..  I have moved the data Sata cables around and the power cables too..  Might need to look closer at that tomorrow..  unless?

Tks

Were those 2 disks in RAID configuration?

Overall, I think your PC is ok if its booting to Windows.  I think some updates might need to be done for chipset, windows, etc.

hi  gtxjackbauer..
The 2 disks are not configured as a RAID..   I just updated windows 10..  new SP or something... still no sign of the missing disks..  Lookng into chipset drivers now.
Cheers..

Update on the two missing disks..  One SSD disk was found, not really sure what the problem was or how it was corrected.  between the switching cables around and the updates from Windows download..

The second disk is DOA...  2TB WD BLACK...  I will send that one back..

****
Question please...
 The 6 SATA RAID ports, can those ports be used for regular non-RAID disks?  I hope so...

Yes, they can all be used for normal hard drives. I believe the BIOS by default should have RAID disabled.
