Ok here it is posted properly I was also able to squeeze out a little more speed without lowering my ambient temps. 5.223@1.54v Eleet shows it at 1.55 but in my bios I have it set at 1.54

55' ambient, can go lower when required I just got the mobo a couple of days ago. Just took a shot at the voltage. The Vc was at 1.536 in cpuz during the actual runs. Suspect I can go a fair bit lower maybe, will find out.

Hey IstBarP, since you run pretty much the same setup as me, I was wondering if you would mind giving me a hand with my bios settings? To start, would like to hit 4.6ghz-4.8ghz to get a feel of what my chip can do, and how well my loop can cool.

couple of things...... 1. Running a multiplier of 50 gives me 4.998 ghz or something because my bus speed is not quite running at 100 like it should (99.8)? Would that be acceptable, or would I have to bump up to a 51 multiplier? 2. I am able to boot and run 5-6 passes at 5ghz, and 5.1ghz, but my temps are soaring...90+. I see temps that high in many previous posts in this forum....how hot is really too hot for this chip, and for how long? Thanks anyone??

Just raise your BCLK to 101 and you will show above 5.0Ghz. most will tell you not to exceed 80c for any extended periods. 90c is getting to a dangerous level.

OMG didn't notice this thread was here... and the lack of AMD!?! BRB Im here to support!....but core temp isn't supported, and i tried running LinX with same results as last AMD guy nothing reporting in below box yet ran for 10minutes... must not like bulldozer. Clearly a Intel thread, 2 of 4 tests can only be done with FX chip, (why are you letting me down bulldozer!!)

two more questions :-) 1. Do you turn off hyperthreading to help with temps? 2. Is there any reason why we cannot use Prime to bench to 5ghz? I am almost there....7 passes LinX at 5ghz, 1.45v, almost 90c...HOT!, then blue screen. Thanks,

Thanks, Well... my cpu doesn't have HT, but i don't think people turns it off.. and yes, the reason we use linx, is to set a default way to measure stability.. if some people use one stability tester and others use another, then it can be hard and people will complain that their OC is more stable than others.. so for that reason i have set a default program to bench.. then nobody complain and such :) be carefull going that high!.. Sandy bridge are not so tolerant when it comes to temps.. better keep it low, i've read that some people fries their CPU right about 90.. i didn't go to 5.2 ghz cause mine went above the 85 degrees mark i made.. i didn't wanna go above cause it is not worth to fry your CPU for so little as 100 mhz..

Mystikalrush I guess me above entry isnt valid? I will be updating this thread in an hour or such.. but the requirement is 20 min of linx :).. so hope you can make 20 min :).. this image show that he got linx working on an AMD Bulldozer http://www.twcarpc.com/ph...AFX8120/AFX8120DT2.png don't know if there is some special AMD version , but i know there is a special Sandy bridge version that uses sandy bridge new chipset and raises the GFlops drastically

Im perty sure the other AMD FX guy had the same issues as me. I've tried many different version with no results to report. That picture does indeed show it working but thats an unseen yet to distribute 95w FX-8120 most likely has addressed issues with such programs, possibly. Please let me know of any alternatives to get listed, would love to populate the AMD list.
